Best place for pump is on flow with cold feed & expansion close coupled next to it. You don't have self priming cylinder do you as it is unusual for pump to be on return

Has burner been removed to check if earth pin kit has been fitted? If this is missing it can cause flashing l-f also insulation boards may have dropped down which will cause the combustion box to burn out

It may have an immersion back up which you can use till parents get home. Also make sure the fused spur is switched on as you may have inadvertantly switched it off. If all else fails why not contact a neighbour as they will probably have same system

First thing to do is remove all air from system especially the dhw flow pipe (there should be a bleed cap to loosen)

There has been a safety issue regarding insulation boards dropping down which could cause l/f fault get landlord to call in a htg eng who can diagnose faults on boilers

The plugs are there so when it is painted the paint doesn't get on the threads so the plugs tend to stick fast maybe a bit more force with a bigger screwdriver will work

Has it got warmstart switched on (depending on model) to turn off move dhw selector knob to min for a couple of seconds then restore back to original position if you want warmstart back on turn same knob to max for a couple of seconds then move back to original position

Easy to fit if it is the switch that is faulty & not the diaphragm which will have become stretched vokera part nos are switch 4148 diaphragm 0226

A possible cause is seized mechanically 3 port valve or an electrical fault on 3 port valve. To see if it is electrical turn off fused spur for a minute or so then turn it back on to see if it works (it may do it again though when you have htg only next time)

Must take a long time for a heavy dump to go down are you sure it ain't blocked?

Has system been flushed & cleaned properly & was blr fitted before being flushed. Was reason for flush noisy boiler if so i would be suspecting heat exchanger reqd

Also if you change complete valve the nuts might be a different thread so make sure you will be able to remove the olives
