No you can't, its probably only has a Permanent live and switch line, no neutral and is only on a 6A circuit. Is the one on the other wall the other side of where you want this current one? If so you could drill though and spur off that socket. Providing its not a spur at the moment.

Unless the Hi-Fi equipment you are using is quite old or relativity cheap you shouldn't need it. I've used both cheap and expensive amps in dimmer rooms with around 50/60 loaded dimmer channels, the cheaper amps allowed a lot of interference in but the more higher end ones made a difference...

Yes you can, single pole will only switch the live but double pole will switch the live and neutral. It won't make any difference when it comes to replacing/wiring them up.

Does the glass bulb come away from the ceramic base? Could be a G9 in some form of converter.
