No, this is just the begining, what will stop is probably a few more spark jobs because of price increase, this until somthing proper is put into place, I think we might be seeing a few more like this one :?

    Shower terminals

Yep, I believe it was most likely a loose connection, there was complete melting to the terminal block in the shower, think it was only on the incoming phase, also copper completely broken apart because of the temperature rise, and then further back behind the shower on the wall there was...

    Triton 'Jade' Electric Shower

Design calculations aside, whats happened has happened, possibly a loose connection, or possibly a shower fault but that seems unlikely. 6mm I would have to agree should have been fine, but its far too close to play with for 10.5kW, after all Triton reccomend 10mm cable for 8.5kw showers and...

    Need An Earthing Bible

Yes, Supplementary bonding on the bolier, which is cross bonding between all the pipes, this must be unbroken, best way is to remove a section of PVC, say 1 inch or so, then hook this around behind the washer on the earth clamps. hope this helps, seems like you have it well figured out tho...

    Shower terminals

For the record, PVC like most modern plastics, altho won't sustain fire without melting, if they do catch light they are self extinguisihing, however if you had some Low Smoke and Fume cable it sustains the heat much better, and doesnt let off toxic fumes like PVC cable does.

    main tails

16mm is fine for your house, you most likely have a 60A or a 80A main fuse, if you needed to have more power, then you would have to speak to the electricity company about having your fuse uprated to 100A, only then would you need 25mm tails.

    Need An Earthing Bible

Yep 4mm Single Copper Earth for the supplementary, no need to bond in the kitchen, Cross bond all the pipes with 4mm at the bolier (this doesnt go back to main earthing terminal)

    Triton 'Jade' Electric Shower

46A is Clipped Direct BAS... This was tiled over and plastered in the wall, only place it was clipped was for a couple of meters in the cupboard under the stairs. secondly they are my jumping smileys, mine mine mine, you should know better! and lastly........nevermind 8)

    Need An Earthing Bible

You should have a 16mm Single Copper cable for the main earth from supply cable to a Earthing block, more 16mm from there to your board. 10mm Single Copper cable from your earth block to your incoming gas pipe, connection made withing 600mm of the isolating valve, then another 10mm Single...

    CU replacement and seal break

lol dingbat, I read only from what you wrote, and you decribed how you found the missed earth connection with a loop tester, when you would find this through continuity. no you wouldnt take everything apart, but AFAIC all old wylex boards should be replaced with a more modern board which...
