I should have added that the wardrobe affected is only around 600mm x 600mm x 2.1m tall. The Dimplex model does have a stat on it but is cranked up all the way currently.

Hi All, Our bedroom wardrobe (fitted) backs on to an outside wall and one part of the wardrobe wall had black mould which I've now removed. I've installed a Dimplex 1ft 40W tubular heater at the bottom of the wardrobe. Is this sufficient to keep black mould at bay? Cheers Daz

I think, from doing a little research, that I'd need to fit a Cat Risk 5 backflow valve which isn't going to happen. I should also contact Amazon and all the other UK sellers of them in case they aren't aware. That includes B&Q who sell them too and make no mention of it on their website.
