We not concerned about the installation i was curious and a quick google turned up some interesting topics saying you shouldn't touch them, Why do they curl them anyway

Sorry i mean RCBO missed that, I dont suppose he will need to play with it as the RCBO are next to the main switch Shower and external supply 50 and 32 respectively but the RCBO seem to have near half a foot of fly lead. How do most people tidy their RCBO up i heard that some manufactures...

Just been looking at a friends consumer unit and it looks a right mess for a new install, I was under the impression you could cut or straighten a neutral fly lead Is my assumption incorrect?

    Mains Bonding

I have seen quite two different set up for mains bonding of gas and water pipes 1)all earth cables lead back to the consumer unit 2) all cables lead back to a dedicated earth block What's the benefits if any of having a separate earth block over using a consumer unit? What is preferred?

How much Electricity do i need.

He is just too smart for his own pants but we thank him for it for kicking people like me into touch Though for what he has proven to me even at that range you could only pull 31 amps while still maintaining the provision for v Drop so meaning the max RCBO i could fit on 10mm is 20 amp anyway...

    Cable Fill ratios

    1) the must by going against the law of advertising that fact and i would hope that was without de-rating factors applied as i don't really want to purchase my insulation at the same time. 2) These circuit are already in place though need to be hidden shortly

How much Electricity do i need.

Good point but I did also put heater and pond electrics. I'm guessing this takes in to effect of initial load hence why the output is higher Though that suggest the cable that is already their is heavily overloaded as it is no way 10 and I don't think it is even 6

How much Electricity do i need.

Yeah 2 have been used to turn on lighting at the other end though its a strange set up as it been fused twice though two different consumer units I had looked at TLC voltage calculator which suggest the max cable load at 50 meters would 32.9 to be fair im just being a tight ass wanting not...

Please don't bring up the Part P tax All I'm trying to do is measure the size of the SWA and match it with a sutible though probably limit RCBO

    Cable Fill ratios

Are you saying that any lighting circuit wired on 1.5mm 18amp cable protected by 5/6amp would never reach 30% or their about of its loaded capacity

How much Electricity do i need.

Very stupid question I know but its for a double garage that already has a supply. The reason I'm having a new consumer unit fitted and was hoping to re-use the current SWA in place though I don't know the size Any one know the outside diameters of 4 core SWA or the outside diameter of a...

Oh dear this is not going to be easy! So has anyone got an ideal arrangement of conduit / trucking to fit to put these cables in

    Cable Fill ratios

Yeah the 10 mm is a shower at 45 amps IT will be connected to the beams in the loft so not laying over the insulation and in the conduit for one wall say 2.5m Assuming conduit is the worst de-rating the cable will still be able to provide the full 45 amps needed, though if you used...

    Cable Fill ratios

Im trying to work out cable fill ratios for trucking or conduit of twin and earth and looking for a bit of help; Im trying to run 5 cables into the loft and would like to hide them in a wall/ trucking not a fan of clipped and i know conduit is only really of singles but it seems an easy way...

    splitting tv aerial

That depends on how good your signal is already. Good signal splitter would be Ok for a couple bad signal you will need to boost it before you split it. though saying that if you need to boost it the best way would be to get a mast head amp. Very good page can be found here...
