By this you mean you gave the network drive an unused IP Address on the same logical network as the router ? you haven't given it the exact same IP address as the router I take it ? Can you post the specific model please. Sounds like permissions on the NAS box to me.

Try downloading the chipset driver using the Drivers link on the left. If you have no no drivers at all then download the lot.....may save you a lot of hassle in the future if the product or manufacturer disppears.

Got a few people using them at work. Like everything else mobile the UK is never 100% covered so you will on ocassion get a much reduced data rate or sometimes even no signal.....from our experience with Vodafone at work this is quite rare. International access is expensive and isn't included...

It has it's place. Sounds like this is for personal rather than business use..... I'm guessing most people will be using the firewall built into their broadband routers these days. Before my router I used to use ZoneAlarm which I liked except that certain programs/services would ask...

:idea: Does the laptop have an analogue modem ? If it does then try registering for a free Tiscali dial up account.....I know this won't solve the broadband problem but it will go some way to show that dial up networking is working okay on the laptop.

Can you post screen shots of the dial up networking setup please. You defo only have 1 modem (i.e. the Sagem) ticked against the connection (Under 'Connect using:') ? Can you do a 'Query Modem' repeatedly using the Diagnostic in the Phone and Modem options on the Control Panel ?

What you say makes sense but what the OP has done to correct the problem is to clear a blockage....sometimes these things defy logic.

Sounds like a blockage to me which you haven't been able to clear with what you have done so far. Take it to your local repair center or bin it and get a new one.

If all are 802.11b/g (which they will be I'm sure) then they'll be fine. Only other thing to look out for is that the card supports your wireless encryption e.g. some cards won't do WPA2. Check OS compatibility as well i.e. card has a driver for your operating system.

Make and model of hub may help also.

Is the card in the PC embedded or in a motherboard slot ? What is the make and model of the card in the PC please. What speed is the hub, 10/100 or just 10 ? :?

Possible auto-sensing problem....try forcing the PC ethernet to be 100Mbits Full Duplex. I take it the PC has a 10/100 network card or better ?

Going to need a bit more info than that.... Make, Model, Type of boiler is a start
