Sink plug has become stuck in plug hole. The mechanism that lifts it is broken and I can't seem to wedge it out. Any ideas how to remove this?

Is this product suitable for cutting into the floorboards? http://m.bosch-do-it.com/?site=/gb/en/diy/tools/pks-16-multi-3165140651240-199896.jsp&jumpto=gb-en#tab_technical

    Lifting flooring

I'll check whether they're glued down - if they are, presume similar process for lifting them but obviously would need to buy new to put back down. We need access to most of the floor void as we're laying insulation in the void.

    Smoke Alarm

We have two "Dicon 670MBX Ionization Type Smoke Alarms" in our house. We were replacing the battery in one of them and noticed the following wording on the inside of the alarm:- "Date of Manufacture Apr 15, 2005 Date of Replacement Apr 15, 2015" What does "replacement" mean - the...

    No heat from radiators

Boiler is wall mounted flue condensing gas fired system. Hot water tank (only tank in house) is in a cupboard in one of the upstairs bedrooms; has an electric immersion as well. Pretty sure its an unvented system.

    No heat from radiators

Yep all pipework checked. Not considered a leak sealant - how is this administered and how likely is it that it will catch the issue?

    No heat from radiators

Yes but save taking down our plasterboard walls I don't think that's feasible!!! The pressure typically drops from 1.25 bars to 0.5 bars over a 3 month or so period.

    No heat from radiators

Yeah a couple of years ago. I reckon what may have triggered this is we seem to have a leak somewhere in our central heating piping system - a small leak but over time the pressure in the boiler seems to drop very slowly - when I checked the boiler when we were getting no heat, the pressure...

    Downlighters for hallway

Any idea broadly what we'd be looking at for an electrician to carry out the works below? We've got a leccy coming out early next week to give us a quote for what we need done but would welcome a sort of ballpark figure for the works if possible - just to give us a feel for whether we may...

    No heat from radiators

Yes that worked! What could have been wrong with it? Is it something we should get a plumber out to have a look at?

    No heat from radiators

We're currently getting no heat from our radiators. Issue just started today. Got a potterton boiler. Picture of control panel below. Does the orange light above the flame mean flame failure? If so, why are the red lights indicating the temperature at 30, 40 degrees on?

Can i insulate over halolite downlight insulation guards?

Apologies, I did read that, I was just really looking for clarity. I thought that was a valid question though! I'm presuming that the extractor fan is then controlled by pressing the dimmer rotary knob in to switch on and in to switch off - I hope that's right! In terms of compatibility...

Can i insulate over halolite downlight insulation guards?

Ah ok, well that does now start to make sense!! So when we've done that, how does the push on/off switch actually work - I know that the dummy switch module will ultimately control this, but when we come to actually trying to use this, what do we do? i.e. do we simply push the "dummy" dimmer...

Yes there are holes in the ceiling and we're happy with that!!!

Can i insulate over halolite downlight insulation guards?

[/url] Ok, so how does that make the finished product look? I.e. if we bought the following product from B&Q (i.e. a double rotary dimmer switch):- http://www.diy.com/departments/volex-chrome-effect-2-gang-rotary-on/off-with-rotary-dimming-250w-dimmer-switch/109119_BQ.prd and then...
