    DVD -> TV sound missing

    Agree 5.1 into TV is no good its only picking up the two front L+R channels and most speech comes from front central speaker. If your surround sound is after the TV then it needs to be wired directly you should have a 5.1 or optical input on the back of it to accept the DVD player.

    Advice on possibly damaging freezer by transporting?

    The reason you leave it after its been on its back are that the oil drains out of the compressor depending how you load it, so if you know what you are doing you are fine. 24 hours upright is always a best bet, but i have started them instantly before now. Find out if the compressor starts or...

    Burying heating pipes.

    how deep can you go with the hole? could you fit trunking in? can you lay the pipes and then pressure test them before covering it all back up? A bottle of Nitrogen and a pressure gage for 24/48 hours standing pressure should do it at say 1.5 bar. I have seen pipes in the floor put in...

    I agree with this post totally, you would need to be quite a geek to get in and the rewards would not be great enough for said geek to do it on a home network.

    Which budget circular saw?

    In my DIY experience i would choose cheap tools that come with a 3 year warranty as you will probably find they brake as they are so cheap. But they do the job.

    chain saws

    As said many times here common sense prevails on this one. I have and use a chain saw for my log fire, i have the hat and steel toe boots i treat the saw with the respect it deserves and NEVER use it when off balance or there is a risk of it kicking back at you. I have not done any courses and...

    PoE Power over Ethernet adapters or a PoE switch to power the cameras unless you have a mains socket close by, but then any one can just unplug it!! I take it you are going to do it via Ethernet? Picture quality is not so good on wireless cams but it is acceptable so long as your wireless...
