    Flat roofs aren't and shouldn't be flat, there should be a slight incline for the water to run off and not pool. Ask your builder how much incline he's going to put on your flat roof. The figure escapes me at the moment but it should be built to this spec.

    If the floor boards aren't t&g. It may be easier to take up the floor boards and turn them over and re lay. You'll get a newer surface Although older. Bet you wish I'd answered this before you spent ages with a heat gun.
