    Go into your loft with a nail or a key and press the rafters that have got the staining. If the nail goes in easily you've got problems. If not if the battens and rafters are well ventilated give them a wipe down and leave alone. Memor

    Depends how they are put on. I've never heard anything about fibre tiles. They should be two nail holes per slate. Usually centre nailed. Should last about forty years but some asbestos cement slates are even older.

    GEES Don't do it covering up the(posibly still damp) battens and rafters in foam leads to wood rot. You'd be amazed how quickly it can take hold. Memor
