Bathroom handbasin pop up plug problem

The pop up waste plug assembly in my bathroom handbasin seems to work fine, in as much that the plug operates perfectly in either the open or closed position. My problem is that the water seems to drain away quite quickly when the plug is in the closed position. Is it possible to fit a new...

    Black mould on bathroom ceiling

My bathroom ceiling has been suffering from black mould for quite some time, the ceiling was previously painted white emulsion. I've used some Dettox mildew remover spray and it has shifted a lot but in some places even with 4 applications the black stain has changed to a light brown. I am...

What amp fuse do I need for a storage heater ?

Is that what you believe ? I appreciate that bas was doing his bit to look after my well being, but when you criticize a stage name, well, you really hit a nerve !!

What amp fuse do I need for a storage heater ?

Believe I found the prob. Stripping the heater down one of the elements was mangled, twisted and warped (bit like "ban-all-sheds" I suppose) - fitted new element and all set to run overnight on eco 7, so fingers crossed :)

What amp fuse do I need for a storage heater ?

For the fuses to keep blowing in the cu am I right in assuming that the likely causes are either a burnt out element or a faulty thermostat in the heater ? or what else ??

What amp fuse do I need for a storage heater ?

Agree - but how am I to know whether the 15 amp fuses fitted are correct anyway ?? - perhaps they are too low a rating !

What amp fuse do I need for a storage heater ?

Thanks for that Rebuke - guess swapping a 15 amp for a 30 amp may not be such a good idea then. Suppose I will have to take the heater apart to see if there is anything obvious. I wonder whether it could be a fault in the consumer unit ! - I do have a spare new c/u identical to the existing...

What amp fuse do I need for a storage heater ?

Not sure of the rating - it's one of the large size storage heaters with 4 elements and 16 bricks. The fuses are currently 15amp cartridge type - I do have some 30 amp cartridges which I thought I would put in and see if that would do the trick

What amp fuse do I need for a storage heater ?

I have a couple of night storage heaters protected by a separate consumer unit with 15amp fuses protecting each heater. I am having some grief with one heater which keeps blowing a fuse - question as the heaters are on full pelt at this time of the year is a 15 amp fuse too little or should I...

Are Creda and Dimplex night storage elements compatable ?

Yes - it does kinda follow on from my other thread about the storage heater not working. I resolved that problem - the fault lay with the consumer unit, luckily the cu is a 4 way and as I only have 2 storage rads only two were used. I merely changed the position of the fuses and connectors...

Are Creda and Dimplex night storage elements compatable ?

Suppose what I need to say is in the title. I have some Dimplex stotage rads and want to know whether the elements for those will fit a Creda storage heater ?? Cheers

Night Storage heaters and economy 7 electric question

Thanks Bongos - I have found out that npower are the supply providers. Anyway, there has been a development. As I said earlier the house has only 2 night storage heaters fed from a separate cu (2x15amp cartride fuses) One storage radiator works (so my thoughts that no electric was...

Night Storage heaters and economy 7 electric question

It may seem obvious but my Tenants have already vacated !! - leaving the house a bit of a tip, I shall be withholding some of their bond - they will probably have gone owing money to the electric supplier and are currently living at an address I know where not !!

Night Storage heaters and economy 7 electric question

Thanks Taylor - but as I have said before this is a house I rent out to Tenants and I haven't a clue as to which company provides the electricity cos the tenants often change supplier and don't tell me - neither of course do I ever see a bill - cos I don't pay !! I understand somewhere there...
