    Ariston A1535uk Manual

1 Switch off machine 2 Select an off position on timer (black dot) 3 Switch on. LED should light up, go off then flicker twice. The board is now re-set. If it will not do this then switch off again and wait 1 minute before switching on - thre LED should then go through the above sequence. 4...

    Service Washing Machine

Check the brushes first but there could be shorted turns in the motor armature causing sparking at high revs.

    Wm62 interlock

How were you checking the voltage? I would have thought it would be difficult to get meter probes on the terminals with it in situ. When I test them I usually unscrew the interlock and have it hanging out of the door seal orofice. I then use a screwdriver to slide the locking plate to the door...

    360V ring main

You often find 3 cables going to a particular socket, 2 for the ring and one going to a spur. As stated, you need to check the meter in another house to see if it is just miles out of calibration.

    disconnecting old cooker

It is easy enough but there are safety implications. You normally disconnect at the cooker end of the cable as the new cooker will not come with it's own cable. This means that after you disconnect there is a risk of someone getting a shock from the bare wires. If you can identify the circuit...

    Hotpoint Aquarius WD

There might be something stuck between the inner and outer drum, such as a bra wire. You can often see the offending object by shining an inspection lamp under the machine and looking through the inside of the drum whilst rotating it by hand.

Zanussi FJ1296 - not spinning and irratic programs

Check the motor brushes but if they are OK you might have shorted turns in the motor. If this is the case you will need a new motor.

    Minimum length for spur?

Why do it as a spur? If one of the existing ring cables will reach the new socket you can move it to there and just add a short link cable between the 2 sockets. In that way you would incorporate the new socket in the existing ring.

Zanussi FJ1296 - not spinning and irratic programs

The bit with the plastic thread that screws into the shaft is the magnet, the bigger bit with 2 wires coming out is the tacho coil. It is very rare for the front concrete ring to come loose on these machines so you are just unlucky if yours does that. :)

Indesit WD12 Drying takes forever and clothes wet

Possibly a blocked condenser or a pumping problem. There is a trickle of water going through the condenser to keep it cool and this should be pumped away periodically during the drying. If this doesn't happen you end up with the washing wetter than when you started. The constant turning of the...

    Position of Control Unit

I can't see a problem with what you propose. It could be dodgy having it above the hob as steam might find its way into the unit

    Earth and tails size???

I would get 16mm for the main earth from the supply to the consumer unit. The standard size for live and neutral is 25mm but the main fuse is normally 100A. If the terminals in the consumer unit are big enough to take 25mm that would be the size to use.

    Gas cookers and redundant CCUs

If there is a bayonet fitting for the cooker you can just connect it up yourself. If it needs plumbing in I would not think Comet could do it unless they have Corgi fitters these days.

    Indesit WG1034T

There is a chance that the machine is draining too slowly and water in the tub is inhibiting the spin but these machines are prone to a type of timer malfunction that also gives this symptom. If its a draining problem you can usually get it to do the fast spin by doing one or more additional...

    servis problem

Old drums do have their uses. I used the domed back section to make a Chinese hat type cowl for a chimney pot, using strips cut from the sides and folded over to make brackets to attach it to the pot.

Belt keeps coming off Whirlpool washer

Sounds like the drum bearings have failed. Not sure about your model but a lot of Whirlpools have a bearing housing bolted to the back of the outer drum. In theory you remove the drum pulley, unscrew the housing and pull it off to get at the bearings. Trouble is, the bearing housing tends to...

How do i take of the metal rings at the top of the pipes?

I think I know what you mean now. The spring loaded hose clips that secure the ends of the internal hoses in the washing machine? If I were doing the job I would not disconnect these but would unscrew the pump from the base of the machine, place a container under it to catch the water, then...
