when you say hot , how hot put it on a low temp , ie 100c and see how hot it gets , could be a temperature limiter or thermostat depending on what happens. is it clean around the thermostat sensor in the oven

it would seem that your motor brushes may be on the way out take out and have a look at the length if looking very worn then they need replacing
