Thanks all, built the pressure up to just over 1 bar last night, and pilot then came on when I turned the heating and water on.

I haven't increased the pressure yet as wasn't sure if it mattered what order I do things in as a novice at all this and wanted to check how to do this online before attempting it. If it hasn't got a permanent pilot what will that mean? Thanks

Thanks, don't suppose you know where the ignition switch/dial is on this model for the pilot, previous owner of my house did a bit of DIY covering all pipes but has made it very difficult to get the cover off, so short of taking all his covering off i can just get behind the cover on the boiler...
