Mira Leap enclosure, Flight tray and Adept shower set?

Good point! Sorry. 1200x800 rectangular, placed into a corner; so one sliding door on the 1200 side and one 800 side panel.

Mira Leap enclosure, Flight tray and Adept shower set?

I'm currently pricing up a new shower for our ensuite and I think I've settled on a Mira Leap sliding door enclosure, a Flight tray and an Adept thermostatic mixer shower set. That's coming in about £850. The aim is to get something that will last but doesn't blow my budget for the whole room...

    What's this valve for...?

It's a double check valve (non return valve). The screw covers a hole which allows you to check that it's not letting by in reverse.

Wall-mounted system boiler with flexible flue option?

Thanks Simon. That's my concern. I'm contemplating getting it done beforehand, separately. I take your points on board. This will be slightly easier as the airing cupboard is going to be designed around the boiler and the cylinder first rather than as a storage space. The current cupboard will...

Wall-mounted system boiler with flexible flue option?

Thanks Dan. I was looking at the 19kW 200-W as it happens, but it's good to hear there are other options. Down side is that they're slightly more 'niche' and we're potentially going to be lumbered with the plumber the builder chooses...

Wall-mounted system boiler with flexible flue option?

I'm researching options for a new boiler and the plan is to get a wall-mounted system boiler installed in the airing cupboard (which is in the bathroom). However, the cupboard isn't on an external wall. It is adjacent to a disused chimney though. I'd like to get the flue run up inside the...

Stopping polycarbonate roof panels from sliding

Thank you for your help. I've got the fixing buttons, aluminium tape for the top and breather tape for the bottom so I'm going to give this a go this afternoon. I get the impression it was thrown together rather than being installed properly, so it's a miracle it has lasted this long.

    Connecting to water mains

Good plan. Best to futureproof in any case.

    Connecting to water mains

That appears to be 3/4" (ID) galvanized iron. A Philmac 27-34mm to MDPE universal transition coupling will do the job. They do elbow transition couplings too.

Stopping polycarbonate roof panels from sliding

Grateful for any help... We've got a lean-to utility room roof which is made up of three polycarbonate panels. The only thing that seems to have been used to stop any movement in the panels is silicone sealant, which is now peeling away and doing nothing. Consequently our panels keep sliding...

Converting Ideal Mexico Slimline 2 RS55 to sealed system

Fair point, although some of the sites I've seen it advertised on have counterpart eBay sites where they list the product with a photo, so I'd assume it's actually available. The down side is that it's quite expensive at ~£85. I imagine when it was in production it was considerably cheaper. Not...

Converting Ideal Mexico Slimline 2 RS55 to sealed system

Hmm. A mixture of opinions. I've found the part which I'd need, so it seems it is still available (online at least). It's just a question of whether the system would handle the pressurisation.

Converting Ideal Mexico Slimline 2 RS55 to sealed system

Thanks Tony. Sounds like it's technically possible but not advisable then. And yes, we get 27 lpm at 3.5 bar. Static pressure is 5 bar.

Converting Ideal Mexico Slimline 2 RS55 to sealed system

Quick question; We have an Ideal Mexico Slimline 2 RS55 boiler in our kitchen at the moment. It's hooked up to an open vented system. We're getting a loft conversion so the CWSC and the F&E tank will have to go. We have the pressure and flow to accommodate an unvented cylinder. Although old...

What is a really good brand for pressure reducing valves?

I bought a Honeywell D06F-3/4K from City Plumbing for £50 a couple of months back (their part code is 528476). Much cheaper than I could find elsewhere. That's a 22mm fitting, but they do a 15mm compression fitting too. Hopefully you've got a CP near you?

    Washing machine waste

The volume is definitely less, but depending on the model the flow rate may be the same or as close as makes any difference - it just won't last as long. The bore of that pipe still isn't sufficient. Have you got any plans or photos of the room layout so we can advise an alternative?

    Washing machine waste

21.5mm pipe isn't sufficient for a washing machine's output flow rate. Find another way!

    Too much pressure?

It's not a Bristan tap, is it? I bought one recently and the aerator let a good trickle of water by about a minute or so after the tap was turned off. Really annoying. In my case, I contacted them and they sent through a replacement aerator (they called it an anti-splash assembly) which held...

Can I use mixer tap with mixed pressure hot/cold

Fitting a non-return / single check valve to the hot supply will prevent that.
