    pump on combination cylinder

Bearing in mind you'd have to halve the 8 liters/minute figure as that's refilling the hot water cylinder beneath too. 6lpm restrictors would result in you running the cistern dry in no time.

Aircon in loft struggling to bring temp down

I have to say, I think 5000 BTU is far too little for that space and the temperatures we're having at the moment, together with the inefficiencies already mentioned. It's also quite likely that that 5000 BTU is achieved in a lab in optimum conditions. What you're trying to set up is a referred...

Getting rid of airlock in Hot Water Cylinder Coil

If the boiler doesn't fire up at all, it would suggest an electrical fault/wiring issue to me. If the only fault on a gravity hot water system was an airlock, you'd expect the boiler to fire until its internal thermostat was satisfied (which wouldn't be long due to lack of circulation).

Toilet Soil Pipe Too Far From Wall

Having just done some sums, with a pan where the spigot stops 160mm from the wall and with your soil pipe position, the McAlpine WC-CON8 will overlap the pan spigot by 18mm and the WC-CON8E will overlap the pan spigot by 55mm. Bearing in mind the seal on the pan connector isn't at the opening...

Toilet Soil Pipe Too Far From Wall

The 50mm thing is the minimum clearance. You can go further away, as in your case. There's actually no difference between the soil pipe distance to the wall in the one I proposed and the one you linked to. Any chance of photos of the current arrangement?

Toilet Soil Pipe Too Far From Wall

A lot of the pans I'm looking at would seem to work. Where have you been looking? Are you desperate to keep your current pan/cistern? This for example: Ideal Standard E8229(01)

    Surrey Flange/Warwick Flange

That's the top of an immersion heater. The black plastic cover should be on as there are live wires exposed. Can you take another photo of where the pipe emerges from the top of the cylinder?

A little help with a shopping list....

I think you're talking at cross-purposes. The Spirovent is a vent, but muggles means a 'Spirotech Spirotrap MB3' magnetic system filter/dirt separator (I think).

Best outdoor oil combi boiler and fitting price

Yes, what you are referring to is a sealed system and that is an option. Or you could choose to have an open vent system which would require a small feed and expansion tank in the loft. Both systems would work with a hot water cylinder, and this would have the fallback of an electric immersion...

Gas BBQ - Is this a ridiculous idea ?

Only the disposable cartridges. The refillable/exchangable cylinders (901, 904 and 907) are butane only.

Help with fixing Plumbing Macerator waste from Garden office

Perhaps a small sewage pumping station might be the solution? It's relatively expensive, granted, but they can pump 100m+ in certain cases. Depends how badly you want the extra WC. I'd say that any of the options on the table so far are destined to fail in what is likely to be a very unpleasant...

Upgrading CH to per-room control, removing the facehuggers

Honeywell Evohome would do what you want, better and cheaper than what you propose. Yes, a bypass should be fitted. The one you have linked to is suitable. A system filter is not needed until you change the boiler.

Filling up a hot water tank more frequently

Good, good. An unvented cylinder will potentially address the low water pressure issues, but you'll need to check your incoming mains pressure and flow rate first, as it could end up being an expensive mistake if you haven't got sufficient 'oomph' in the mains to drive it. The bonus will be...

Filling up a hot water tank more frequently

Do you know if you definitely have Economy 7? It's more unusual with three phase supplies, although it does exist.

Filling up a hot water tank more frequently

I wouldn't expect the relatively small amount of hot water used when washing up to deplete the supply to the extent that you can't have a bath in the evening unless there's another issue. How big is the cylinder? Is the cylinder and the pipework leading to/from the cylinder insulated? Do you...

    How to fix cill/sill?

Thanks for the advice. It's a Victorian era house with solid brick walls and no render, so that made my measuring job easier!
