Did you replace the socket yourself?

When the socket was replaced, have you nicked one of the cables with the fixing screws for the socket? Or pushed the cables back on to the screws holding the back box to the wall?

Think I've still got one of those old lampholder connectors. They were really handy in the days before battery drills. When you had the sockets off you could plug in your .....Err nothing!

Oops didn't read the post correctly :oops: If the lights have no earth terminal or earth fly lead they must be double insulated. Will have a square within a square symbol on them.
