Replaced central heating pump. Now hot rads but no hot water

The replacement is a Drayton MA1/679-3 which is a direct replacement (wired up the same as British Gas unit), the old one a British Gas unit. The old unit spindle was solid and it my attempt (and lack of knowledge) to free it must have turned it too much i guess. With broken spring anchors and...

Replaced central heating pump. Now hot rads but no hot water

The spindle is moving freely on the old unit but will rotate through 360 degrees, while the new one only moves a few mm's either way. Can the spindle be 180 degrees out or will it work either way?

Ideal Classic FF340 - Fires up then stops, cold radiators to

Replacement pump on its way - seems to be the easiest starting point and does not involve any messing near the gas end of things. Will i need to drain the system or just turn off the two vales either side of the pump?

Ideal Classic FF340 - Fires up then stops, cold radiators to

Checked the pump. It's very hot and cant hear or feel it running. Could it be that the system is sensing a faulty pump and shutting down?
