My wooden Fascia boards are in generally good condition but a couple of the corners are looking rotten. I want to cut out the rot and cut in a new piece and undercoat it and exterior gloss coat it. What type of wood should I buy to do this?

I have brown wooden doors in my Bungalow, I think they are hollow with a wood veneer. I would like to paint them all white. What is the correct procedure? I guess I need to lightly sand the surface to get a key. Can I use white emulsion as the undercoat and then white gloss for the top coat?

hanks for the reply. I opened the door and looked all around the hinge on both sides but there is no grub screw. So I got an old screw driver and hit the 4 pins with a hammer, once they were free they came out easily. Very pleased, thank-you.
