Cat6A Advice: New Home - New Network!

i wouldn't be suprised if the run is just over 100 meters, its from one end of the building, through the warehouse close to electrics. 100mbit works fine, between the switches, next to no error rate, just wont keep gigabit link, never had the inclination to track down that one as it only...

Cat6A Advice: New Home - New Network!

yeap booted is the rubber "anti snag" they put on patch lead connections. if you want Cat6 throughout, you need to use Cat6 throughout. any Cat5e faceplates will pull that line down to the Cat5e standard. to be honest though, i don't see any harm using Cat5e for faceplates and patch leads...

    Kitchen Concrete Floor Damp

unfortionally i've no idea on how long etc... but whack a dehumdifier in there, it'll suck the moisture out the air, reducing the airborne humidity and thus causing the wet surfaces to dry out quicker. keep doors & windows closed for max drying effect :?:

South facing roof free solar pv?

catch is the company installing the panels will take the FIT's payments, recooping their cost of investment and earning themselves a profit at the tax payers expense (goverment payment!). the FIT (feed in tarrif) payment can be about £1000 per year that the company keep to cover a £15,000...

    C-PLAN hot water valve?

my baxi back boiler has 3 tappings, with the HW return injector teed into the CH return i thought the reason for not blocking the HW flow was to ensure if the boiler was running away thermally, the expanding hot water could escape up the vent pipe without any restrictions, the boiler...

Shower - Mains cold, low pressure hot

it will come down to which mixer you get, have a look at the specs, they normally show a flow rate @ x bar it isn't a guarantee as most figures are without a shower head. the ones i'm looking at generally show about 7 L/min @ 0.2 bar

Shower - Mains cold, low pressure hot

I think PRV's normally only come down to 1 or 1.5 bar, still not enough to give you a balanced supply for a normal mixer **edit, why not just use a PEV in your case, most can cope with a 10:1 difference ??? ** but that would might be low enough for a low pressure thermostatic mixer, the...

Shower - Mains cold, low pressure hot

it's unlikely it'll work as you want. i'm in a similar position and have done a fair bit of reading, so i may be wrong on some points but to summise.. 6m of head equates to roughly 0.6bar best case scenario mains pressure is ?? (assuming 4 bar..) would mean the mains is nearly 8...

    Plumbing for "flush fit toilet"

i cheated and used a flexi waste as they can be stretched out, get it connected to the pan and the soil pipe while away from the wall, when you push it back, the pipe will contract up again. unfortunately i had to box mine off from the wall, one because the mains cold and...

    Thermostats

Zone valve sounds like an good idea, as even with the pump off, some radiators get warm to the touch. I'm not sure were i'd site it, after the pump further up the pipe work?? i'm also looking to put a magnabooster in, presumably on the pipe immediately above the pump, see here I...

    Thermostats

Hi Guys, Looking at my current system, there are no thermostat controls other than the 0 to 4 dial on the front of my Baxi bermuda  So other than the programmer turning various parts off at set times, there isn't anything to regulate the temperature, we quite often find...
