Boiler working overtime (vailant pump overrun)

Will do when I can get up to it. I'm not sure why it would be working at all if it were in place tho?

Boiler working overtime (vailant pump overrun)

Awesome! Thanks And just to confirm, what would happen if it _were_ supposed to be there? I'm not convinced that my installer won't just rip it out if I tell him, and I don't want there to be a major downside!

Boiler working overtime (vailant pump overrun)

Sadly doesn't look like there's anything 24v mentioned in the manual ☹️

Boiler working overtime (vailant pump overrun)

Thank you Mine is an Exclusive 627. It's been a nightmare since day 1 in so many ways! Will take a look at the manual and see if might be something similar... And get the installer back

Boiler working overtime (vailant pump overrun)

Interesting. Do you happen to have a pic of where it is? We don't have vailant controls We had a lot of back and forth on the wiring as we had all sorts of issues getting it working with any kind of hot water control, so it wouldn't surprise me if something like that had been omitted

Boiler working overtime (vailant pump overrun)

Here's what I think is going on... (pure speculation): - I'm not convinced the wiring is correct - I think what's happening is that the thermostat in the water tank is detecting drop in temp and telling the boiler it wants more heat - The boiler has an off / on defined by the thermostat hub...

Boiler working overtime (vailant pump overrun)

It's only set to heat the water in the tank twice a day so know it's not (or shouldn't be) doing that The display changes when it's heating the water too so if it is doing (or trying to) that it's doing it in some way that the display can't recognize

Boiler working overtime (vailant pump overrun)

We had a vailant system boiler installed a few months back and it's been bugging me that it seemed to be on when not necessary Now, it's 27 degrees, we have no hot water call since a few hours back, no heating call yet I can still hear it chugging away Screen just shows a timer or nothing when...

RCD tripping on Electric towel rail

Great, thank you! Been tearing my hair out over this as I was sure it wasn't my wiring but was beginning to doubt myself until I removed everything! Guess I'll get on to the manufacturer for a replacement

RCD tripping on Electric towel rail

Wow, that was quick! I worried someone might say that, the rail weighs a ton! It's also not that old annoyingly!! Just one question, it seemed to work one time and then didn't - could that fault be intermittent?? And definitely not some water somehow ingressed into the socket?

RCD tripping on Electric towel rail

My RCD keeps tripping on my electric towel I did have a smart switch (Shelly1) wired in so assumed it was that, but I have now removed that and still tripping This means it's either the socket (a fused flex socket) or the heating element itself Note, it's tripping the RCD and not the MCB How...

Connecting Lights to a single switch

Hmmm sounds like i'm a bit out of luck - given the spark was doing the rewire for the extension and we asked him I can't help but feel that this must be too tricky to be possible without major disruption... Think i'll have to go my smart way then...

Connecting Lights to a single switch

Actually I know exactly how to do it over the internet ;) Wire in a smart relay to each and tell my hub when one is turned on to turn on the other. However, id rather do it directly if possible!

Connecting Lights to a single switch

Right in that case they're on separate MCBs, but potentially on separate RCDs. Will need to re-check when I've not had a few beers. They're on two different halves of the board

Connecting Lights to a single switch

Layman question - what's the difference? It's at the main "fuse box"

Connecting Lights to a single switch

Confirmed - they're on different RCDs...

Yep - I'll take a look tomorrow to work try work out and post back :)

Connecting Lights to a single switch

In that case I'm guessing they're not on a ring main. We asked if they could link them to the same switch and they said they they couldnt - I'm not sure why now tho... I'll pop the switches off and take a look over the weekend Without looking I don't understand why it wouldn't it just be a case...

Connecting Lights to a single switch

This on the face of it seems like a simple thing but please let me explain I have recently had an extension and we have a new landing area. The landing area lights are on the new extension ring main (as I understood from the electrician at the time). On the same switch panel I have a two way...

What should be under my Bifold Door?

Finished floor level (now that the wood flooring inside has gone down) is just under the frame of the door - basically level with the top of the weather sill
