    Cold radiator

open vented. I think it is actually a balancing problem. Turned off other rads and they got hotter. Just checking the pump. It s Grun 15-60 set on 3. Got 18 rads running off that. Is that powerful enough or could I get a more powerful pump to help the flow?

    Cold radiator

Hi, Two radiators in a house I recently moved into in an extension. Both dont get hot. Pipe going into the TRV is hot, other side not so. Like water is not getting through. Just took the radiator off, not much sludge in it. Flushed it through anyway with the hose. Opened the valves with the...

    Zanussi Wahing Machine Bearing

It was the pulley. Crap thing is that they can't get back to me until a week on Thursday to fit a new one!!! Absolute rubbish. Really annoyed that our family of four is now without a washing machine for 9 days. Not that they give a toss.

Thanks John. Repair man out today. So no need to worry about other secondary component failure as a result of the bearing failure?

    Zanussi Wahing Machine Bearing

Hi, My Zanussi washer dryer has blown its bearings. 11 months old so should be under guarantee. My question is, the bearing has been going for quite a while (my fault for not getting it sorted earlier), does this harm other components? I am wondering if to take up AO.com's cover at £9 per...

Thanks guys. Getting there with it with 400 and wire wool. The Sikkens does seem to sit on top of the wood though.

    Sikkens cetol sti

Thanks. I did check the door instructions and it just said no wax or oil product. I'll flatten it out and add another coat. I'm tempted to try rubbing it on with a rag. I did try that at first and it felt good on the wood but the can said brush so I did that. It feels to me like I out ok much on.

    Sikkens cetol sti

Hi, Title should read tsi :) can't see how to edit title on my phone. Installed some oak veneer doors and put one coat of colourless sikkens satin on. Looks great but has finished rough to the touch, might have over applied? What's best to do next? Do I rub it down and re-apply or just leave...

    Pedestal

Hi, I've installed a sink and pedestal. The sink is solid to the wall with the proper both ended screws but the pedastil does not attach to the basin (do not think it is supposed to). B and q Fabienne basin and pedestal. There is about a 10mm gap between the sink and pedestal my error but...

    Potterton promax fan

Hi, 7 year old Promax 24/2 HE Plus. Was maintained by BG until last year when they hiked up the cost to be too much. It sounds like the fan is going. It is fine when running but when the boiler switched of it makes a noise when it slows down like it is wobbling on its axis. My question...

    Fixing RSJ

Hi, The width span is just over 3 meters where we need the RSJ. It will support wooden ibeam joists (ply with timber at each end) which support the upper floor of the house (but not the only support). It is replacing a block wall which was supporting the ibeam joists in the centre of their...

    Fixing RSJ

Hi, We need to fix a steel/rsj across a room to support the wooden ibeams running perpendicular. Problem is that one side of the room is ok (blockwork) but the other side is a stud wall. What are the rules/guidance for fixing to a stud wall, or is there another way of doing it? Thanks...

Hmm.. What should I do with this?

Hi guys, Bit of a novice I'm afraid, sorry to be bothering you. I had a leak (well I drilled through a plastic mains pipe  ). I fixed the leak as you can see below, but now I have a hole to fix, which is in a visible area in the kitchen. I can't put a piece of plasterboard over the...
