    removing gas fire

You`ll need to get a gas safe engineer to isolate it from the gas supply 1st.Then it should be a straight forward job of removing any screws holding appliance to the wall(usually only seen with the casing off). Then as you say chipping away the cement holding the flue in place. But you`d...

    Gas fire replacement, enough support?

My plan of attack would be:- 1=get an RGI to remove the old fire and carry out a smoke test on the chimney(make sure he is qualified to work on fires,it`s on the back of his I.D.card). 2=get a chimney sweep to sweep chimney and again carry out a smoke test. 2a=do these 2 things 1st to...

Dripping noise after using hot water in bathroom

If it`s a tapping/ticking noise.it could well just be the H/W pipe expanding against wood in a tight spot.If so ,nothing to worry about, just a bit annoying.

Why Isn't My New Worcester As Efficient As My Old Boiler?

It`s the boiler obviously. Your old boilers used a set amount of gas whether they were heating the H/W or C/H. A Combi uses a LOT more gas when heating hot water, this is why a new larger gas supply had to be run to it. In your old systems, your tennants would probably use the hot water...

Flame in Rangemaster 110 gas cooker always stays low

It`s most likely the Fame Supervision Device, which is faulty, which will probably be either a vapour valve type or a thermocouple type.Either way ,it will require a Gas Safe engineer to repair it.No guarantee to worry about ,so any Registered engineer could repair it if he/she can get parts.£300...

    Gas cooker oven working operation?

    Central Heating Running Costs

In general you are correct, but be aware the more radiators you have on the more water you are heating. Therefore the boiler will stay on for longer, using more gas.
