Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

It should be clever enough to give the consumer what they want - flame on means boiler on, flame on means boiler off. Think I'll pass on sitting out in the garage to time it. Too clever for me I'm afraid.

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

I'm on holiday from work at the moment so have been able to monitor what's happening. First day I switched optimisation on I had it set for 5pm and that's when it seemed to turn on (although my son arrived for dinner just at that moment and I took my eye off it). So following what you said...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

An update as promised. Since moving it to its new position in the living room there has been no problem. I have now turned on optimisation - this works both on the first time setting in the morning and the evening time setting. So far I have opted for; 7am - 19C 8am - 10C ( normal...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

I did wonder if it was more ease of installation. However instructions also say it should be in an open area which the small understairs cupboard where the timer was isn't. At least they were on the same circuit breaker. They were not, however, clearly marked but could have been. Correct...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

I did wonder about that. The communication test seemed positive with the green led flashing every 6 seconds as it said. There was no red led to indicate loss of communication (except for the one occasion when I carried out my radio controlled clock and the controller together and right next...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

The Linea has a permanent supply next to it in the garage. The timer had a different permanent supply next to it in the house. The installer was not happy putting it in the same position for 2 reasons. 1. He said it had to go next to the boiler. ( the instructions do more or less say...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

I did ask about putting it in the same location as the timer that was there - unfortunately this wouldn't work as it was only 3 core wire going to the boiler (or 2 core as it had L, N and E?). The timer had a separate mains feed next to it. Old thermostat had not been in use for 10 years...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

Around 10/12 metres. 3 walls between them, I read that. I made sure I put the target temperature up by at least 3/4 degrees above room temp. This morning when it didn't come on, room temp was 17 degrees and target temp was 21 degrees.

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

Directly to socket. It turns the boiler on and off. I tried the Test Communication - green led flashed every 6 seconds as described. I put it back to Auto and although flame was on again no green led on relay box. I will try varying the position of the controller in case it's picking...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

It's getting power from the same switched socket that powers the boiler. I left that to the installer. As far as I'm aware the relay box was fixed into position next to the boiler then the controller was switched on. As it all seemed to work that was all that was done. I don't recall him...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

OK unit worked well yesterday, coming on and off when required. However this morning heating did not start up. Room thermostat showed the little flame symbol, room temp was 17.5 and target temp was 21. I went out to look at the boiler - it's in garage. No led at all on the relay box. Tried...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

Thanks - that's very helpful. I think I'll just have to try out a few different possibilities and see what happens. I'll perhaps monitor the drop in temperature overnight (although middle of winter would be different perhaps) and see how insulated or otherwise my house is. The only place I...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

OK optimum start is when the unit works out when to come on to get the required temperature at the time you want it. How do you find it works? Normally if I get up at 7am on weekdays I set the heating to come on around 6.30am so it's a reasonable temperature for getting up. If I therefore...

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

So 10C seems to be a good setting for night and out at work all day. I shall set it to that and see how it goes. I wondered about that. That seems like a good idea. I shall try not to! Thanks for the suggestions.

Honeywell CM927 - suggestions to settings?

I have just had a Honeywell CM927 programmable thermostat installed and was looking for suggestions as to the best way to use it for both comfort and efficiency. I haven't changed any of the default settings yet - what do most people use for temperatures/timing? I know it's individual...

Thanks for your help. I will leave the rest to the installer.

Honeywell CM927 with Vokera combi boiler

Are the 4 wires still required then? I see - I will make sure to point this out. Thanks.

Honeywell CM927 with Vokera combi boiler

No it's not the HE version. G.C. 47 094 28 I suppose it was done as the boiler is in the garage and the timer in the house. The original wiring for the old boiler that it replaced was like that too. I'll not let any unsuspecting heating engineer get into trouble. Surely most would...

Honeywell CM927 with Vokera combi boiler

Not sure what you mean by this. The boiler has its own socket and seems to be on, electrically wise, all the time. The timer, as far as I know, is wired in place of the Vokera internal time clock to tell the boiler when to fire. That would be a help. I have asked one electrician who said he...
