Hi Julian, I have added the details and pictures of your old McCoy which was one I never had details of. There is a white one that I have photos of which has the same pop up headlight conversion as yours but the rear lights are from a Manta. The rear screen is original as well.

My opaque glass is to the outside, just a guess but it may be due to the K glass specs which has made the change.

You may be able to cut some of the tip off each but will have to balance the blade again, you can do this by getting a snug fitting rod and pass it through the hole in the blade and then sit it over an open level jawed vice, if it falls one way file it down until it finds balance. I use this...

You can never guarantee a clean straight cut using ant circular saw which ever way up you cut it. Hire a decent 1/2" chuck router and buy a good carbide cutter for cutting worktops. You have already spent good money on the worktops and they will always be in view. Don't dissapoint yourself...

Is the blade the correct diameter for the machine? maybe an incorrect larger diameter blade has been fitted in the past and by doing this has reduced the clearance between the blade tips and the shield. How much gap is there between the blade and shield? On all the mowers I have have there as...
