Oh okay. Will probably clean the pump for today (see the pic, it's a wonder it even ran with the stuff from the water tank!), check it is okay, get the gaskets and cleaning agent to put in. Fit it all back together, run it and change the pipework in 2 weekends time when I drain the system again

I have cleared a shelf to show you another photo as it may not have been visible on the previous photos. I think this may be the air vent? Have drained the radiators this morning and the bottom of the F&E tank was full of a black layer which was like oily mud so i have cleaned it out using a jug...

Gasguru quote: It looks as though you have a "combined feed and vent" layout and they are never that great at releasing the air...and in your case they have not tee'd the pipe just before the cistern to form a vent pipe over the cistern. Would you suggest me changing the set up ie is it...

Okay, although whenever I bled the radiators it was clear, and also from the pipes, although the water from the pump was quite dirty/oily looking when it was running from the large bottom nut off the pump. Okay great, good to know the direction of flow is fine. There is also a Drayton actuator...

No, the leak is on the large coupling nut where the pump meets the valve which i would imagine is the pump gasket leaking. The gate valve weeped for a while from the front but then stopped but does not entirely shut off the flow of water.

Hi Gasguru Yes thanks, Terry pointed out it is not the correct tank to drain. Ref point 2, I meant was it worth me re-installing it as it was or changing the route as some people on the net seem to say the flow should down down or horizontal, but not upwards? I have just checked both cisterns...

    Central heating issues

Hi Terry Thanks for the reply. Yes the drain cock enters the bottom of the cylinder. I am unsure of the direction of the water. Aha you are correct sir. There is a drain cock off a radiator downstairs by the outside back door. I imagine that will take quite a bit of draining. Am I likely to...

Hi All Wondering if anyone could please assist. I have a cold tank loft water fed system, with a Grundfos Alpha2 pump fitted next to the water cylinder. which is situated in the airing cupboard upstairs. The boiler is an old Glow worm Space Saver mk2 which seems to be in good working order which...

Ferroli 77FF plume flue managment kit

Hi all, thanks for taking the time to read, and I appreciated all the valid comments. All is complete now as per Picasso's idea. I called the same gas engineer to make sure he would be happy to return after my alterations. He was, he came, he tested and all was fine. I now have a safe and tested...

Ferroli 77FF plume flue managment kit

Hi Dan/Ian thank you very much. I appreciate all comments and guidance from everyone. I also appreciate the engineer is very good at his job, I just wanted a little more guidance to see if there was any more avenues to explore other than boiler replacement. Sorry if my earlier comment may have...

Ferroli 77FF plume flue managment kit

Hi Ian One more question if I may, does the NA actually mean Not Applicable, or Not Available ie If Not available and he couldn't/hasn't checked the gas analysis, the safe to use could still end up being a 'N' if the CO2 reading is not as should be.

Ferroli 77FF plume flue managment kit

Yes I asked for a boiler service which is what my solicitor was asked for. A gas installation/safety record was provided to me from the engineer. There are obviously as you are aware check boxes Y/N and some are NA. My fault, I was reading it as a sort of MOT failure sheet. I have already...

Ferroli 77FF plume flue managment kit

Oh I see. So it's worth my while printing off the below, as newer docs may be more stringent. This would include meter readings etc I presume would it? http://pdqspares.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/COMBI-77-FF.pdf Would some testers dislike me trying to make this point? i suppose not if it's...

I have previewed the installation instructions a couple of days ago. I can soon print it off for him. Would the boiler requirements not change over the years though? Sorry if I've misunderstood?
