    Sand and Cement, Render, Screed

Have just used sand cement render over brick on inside wall. Used 1 part cement to 6 parts sharp sand, not too dry mix. Mixed some 1 part pva 4 parts water into the render and a bit of diluted plasticiser (hear a squirt of fairy liquid could be substituted). Found this mix easy to work with...

    Timber Prices - Discount Structure

Anyone have any bright ideas about how to deal with builder's merchants' whimsical discount structures on timber prices. Bought 16mm x 150mm timber a fortnight ago £1.52 a metre plus vat. Bought more of the same today - charged £2.43 plus vat. 60% increase. Queried and told it all...

NISSAN MICRA 2005 - REAR WINDSCREEN WIPER

NISSAN MICRA 2005 - REAR WINDSCREEN WIPER

Thanks for reply. Still won't budge. :x I assume it should it just pull off after wiggling. No hint of movement at all. Just have to keep trying or go to the garage and pay. Don't think you can just get a wiper blade for the unit. There's a super photo of the wiper attachment...

NISSAN MICRA 2005 - REAR WINDSCREEN WIPER

How do I change the rear windscreen wiper unit on a 2005 Nissan Micra? Taken the nut off and thought it would just slip off ready for the replacement. It didn't. Put WD40 on. Is it supposed to wiggle off (more strength needed) or is it fixed on inside the hatch door behind the trim? No...

    Understairs storage

You'd be jolly handy to have around on a desert island. Your project photos very helpful. I'm planning to make a partition - hinged on one side, on wheels on the bottom to support. Much easier to envisage now, thanks to seeing your project.

    Door linings - installation

Wonderful replies. :D Thank you so much for all the detail and time taken to reply. Have knocked the hole out in a dividing wall myself and will be making good the brickwork myself. Fascinating to look at how work was done in 1921 - like to wonder who did it and what their life was like...

    Door linings - installation

Am about to fit a door lining or casing. (Now know the difference thanks to --Tom and Woody's earlier post.) Try very hard but don't always get everything 100% plumb/square! 1) Would it be better to use a door lining and fit my own stops (thereby allowing me a bit of leeway for my lack...

Danfoss Flow Selectable Valves - rad hot top, cold bottom

Thank you kind people for quick replies. Looks as if pipework will need to be altered, think flow is OK as gets v hot at top. How should pipes enter and exit in order to enable top mounted TRV? Is flow IN at top plus TRV Flow OUT at bottom plus lockshield valve OK? Plus balancing.
