    To check em takes seconds, rather than spend 30min draining and swoping parts, head unclips and lifts off, check rod (spindle) which is now visable, does it move easily? if not new plastic cover with new front seal inside cover, swop plastic diverter bobbin at the same time.

    Got to be back to basics, take off the diverter motor, check spindle is free and not stuck. If ok watch spindle in motot moving when water used and then turned off. After that plug in a thermistor for the heating and check results.

    The non return which I fitted was a brand new one which only worked the once, took it back to merchants for another new one, (we could not find a fault with the first one) fitted 2nd one just the same, so external loop fitted no further problems since, so now I just fit external loop straight away!

    The valve on top of the boiler is simply a car tyre valve, how often do you check tyre pressures? I admit as exp dosen't do 20000 miles per year, but should be checked each service?

    The only thing that controls the water through the diverter valve is the wax capusle in the base of the diverter, you can see the valve spindle moving by removing the aluminium cover from the top of the diverter valve, it should pull down when you open a hot tap, and then slowly move back up...

    there's a big grey metal control box with a relay inside controlled by the room stat, think I would sugest change to a y plan, not sure if you can still get a acutator for this thing.

    leak must be from one of two places Is the pressure going down on the gauge? if so, front seal of Div valve regs changing (Vokera Maxin fits) If not showing on gauge, leaking O ring at back of Dia housing, O ring is in the Dia kit for ther boiler.

    you might just find that turning the power off will stop the fan, but will possibly put out the pilot light through the overheat stat whilst cooking the heat ex washers leaving leaking joints which can be messy

    Your problem would be not serviced @ 12 months. Checking back we have been aware of this problem for 12 months or so! we simply change the seal at the time of service, job done.

    this boiler looks, from the flue arrangement to be the same as a chaff... (yes we know Ariston took over Chaff), we have been changing the inner flue seal (available as a spare part) which has been corroding away even though the appliance HAS BEEN INSTALLED correctly, so don't rush to blame...
