what to use for flat roof

i have done both. firestone EPDM went on my garage, 11x4m and it Went down very easily, quick and no faffing. id buy the profiles if you go rubber. keep the deck dry As for resin, my current roof on my extension is cureit GRP. cant fault the kit at all. It's definitly more tricky to do though...

Damp in the outbulding in new house

you could try measuring the width of the walls from outside to inside, can be tricky. there's other ways by drilling with a long drill bit to measure the depth but you dont want to go all the way through to the inside.

Damp in the outbulding in new house

i do agree that roof dont look the best. it's probably safe to asume there's a lack of insulation in the roof and leaks things to consider are, ventihilation as you have stated, is there a cavity wall or is it solid brick?

Minimum depth for a mini access chamber?

Hi ian. I get you, i would cover my self by having a rodding point on the stack, and the 450mm chamber is not too far down the line anyway to rod from the other side. I think that covers me? The chamber would of been needed if there was no other access, have i got that right?

Minimum depth for a mini access chamber?

Just to add onto this, my main concern is shallow depths, maybe i dont need a chamber at all and a simple stack that has a rodding point in it? The stack would go into a rest bend, straight into a 45 deg branch. Access is possible from the 450mm chamber that is 3 meters away. To my limited...

Minimum depth for a mini access chamber?

Hi all I have a svp stack at the front of my house, and at the rear i have a new 450mm access chamber, passed off by bco. Id like to replace the clay from the svp up to the 450mm inspection chamber at the rear of the house. However while doing this i would like to put a stub stack in the...

    Cwi blown mineral wool

hey john, i got the good old henry out mate. it's doing the job well but blocks up a few times with the big stuff. filled quite a few hoover bags. here's a few pictures. to be honest they dont do it justice for how filled it was. bear in mind the slate that you can see, is the outer skin, as...

    Cwi blown mineral wool

Took a deeper look today. The cavity was completly bridged by 2 bricks above inner dpc with broken down mortar, sandy stuff, rubble, crap all mixed with insulation.. I pulled a few bits of insulation out at floor level a few more bricks along and although it was a little moist in places it was...

    Cwi blown mineral wool

So its not really to blame the fact its mineral wool. The wool dropped below dpc line, is this a problem? I know on new builds they spec insulation below dpc on some builds but thats different type of insulation and i dont think it draws up water like this stuff can. Gutterings are ok, granted...

    Cwi blown mineral wool

More info, thinking about it. The wall on the oposite side of the toiet, (internal) was a single skin bricked wall, this also had quite bad damp. Not sure yet if theres a slate dpc in it as i cant see below the concrete slab. The slab was poured around the wall, so i dont know much about this...

    Cwi blown mineral wool

Evening! As i love adding to my never ending list of jobs on this kitchen extension plan, i have uncovered other potential problems with the existing structure of the house. New 25mm mdpe, sizing stopcock

Thanks both I would keep the boiler 15mm, infact id keep all runs 15mm. I was thinking more the fact of using 22mm to split into two seperate 15mm runs for up/down floors. Rather than using a single 15mm off the stopcock and splitting it 7 meters further down the line into two. Im probably...

    New 25mm mdpe, sizing stopcock

Looking for a lil advice! We had a new 25mm mdpe pipe installed with a bbox, this was tapped into the lead further up in our property so its still on a shared supply, although flow is much better! I just wanted to know, is there any point in swapping out to a 22mm 1/4 full bore valve vs a...
