    Time for change..

I always thought it was wrong to overthrow Saddam, it seems that muslims are quite ungovernable and need a strongman. Mubarek kept things cool in Egypt for a while. Assad and his old fella have done it in Syria until the Arab spring and the west and Saudi/Qatar backing the rebels. Secular...

Tommy Robinson of EDL talking so much sense it's unreal.

Hes a good orator in the language of the working man, hes quite inspiring, hes got some balls and everthing he says is spot on. But... I think there is a big difference between what he says and what he thinks, its PR hes saying what people want to hear and many normal British people will...

    Time for change..

They live on them, benefits and council flats. They choose not to work or arent suitable for a lot of the work today in offices and stuff. Some break the mould, I used to work with one in IT and another worked in a restaurant where I lived, I dont have anything against them on the most part...

    Time for change..

Ive got to be here for 5 yrs before I can get benefits. By that stage, you tend to be self sufficient, maybe the UK should try the same.

    Multiculturalism in the UK

Soon to be permanent resident, improve the lingo a bit better and Ill be able to apply for citizenship. This is the flaw in your argument Walt, a better one would be a "when in Rome" law, basically assimilate in and become British, none of this muslim community or sharia law bullocks...

    Time for change..

Problem is mate, its the 2nd and maybe 3rd generation of British Pakistani's or in this case Nigerians who are the major perpetrators of terror in the UK, they speak the lingo but at some stage for whatever reason have decided to turn their back on the country. As you say there are Pakistanis...

    Multiculturalism in the UK

I thought multiculturalism would be something like different people mixed in together in mixed areas and schools. Id say what the UK has is mono-culturalism, mini states next to each other.

    The downside of diy

The odd house or flat explodes frequently here but its not news like this one. My thinking is that these are meant to be qualified maintenance staff on the municipal gaslines, if the standards are so low on high risk lines in populated areas then imagine how lax they are on the average house...

    The downside of diy

Was another one here a few weeks ago as well. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/czechrepublic/10047170/CCTV-footage-of-Prague-gas-explosion-released.html I wouldnt go near gas nor trust some of the monkeys here with it either. I plan to stick with wood.

    CATS

I have this as well, good olfactory perception. Always notice a smell in the house when we return after a day, usually the wood fire smell even when its not been on. Cats do smell neutral usually, ours sometimes smells dusty if its been up in the loft when Im there or smells nice if it sleeps...

    CATS

My mrs was a dog lover and not too keen on cats but I decided to get one as we'd always had them in the family house, now she is converted to a cat lover and the cat even likes her more then me. I think most people if they get one will be transformed too. We will get a dog as well after the...

    buying a house with damp?

As a non expert and just to add a bit of an opposite to the debate as others say it might be okay or no major cost. My place had no overt signs of damp due to it not being lived in and the windows being left open all the time. After half a year the damp started coming out and climbing up the...

    CATS

Indeed. One lad in school stunk of his dog that much we called him dogman, dogtanian, dogbreath and dogshagger. A colleague I used to work with stunk of wet dog as well. This wasnt even in the house.

    Holidays...

Very. I skied once in Austria before I lived here it was good but not worth it really to do frequently, but here its cheap and very cheap if you know the script. Fly into Prague and get a ski bus or train to Harrachov near Liberec which is the top downhill resort, stay in the resort as you...

    Holidays...

Ski weekends last winter in the Czech highlands(central CZ) or next year to the Beskidy mountains(North East CZ), there is even the odd bear there. Summer holidays will be walking in the same mountains, get a B&B nearby, never a big fan of camping out, need a decent shower and bed. Auschwitz...
