Joining all 3 water pipes together (2 waste and 1 rain)

After careful observation, the bottom pipe is actually plastic but looks and feels like metal and the size is 40mm. The above waste pipe is roughly of size 33 - 35mm.

Removing a very old radiator upstairs to decorate

After measuring the outside diameter of these copper pipe works, they are actually just 10mm :( What type of sealant do you use for this kind of work? Please state item no so that I know what exactly it is.

Thank you. Do you think I have a 40mm water pipe work?

Removing a very old radiator upstairs to decorate

Thanks John, you are brilliant! Can you tell if both of my TRV and Lockshield Valves are 15mm as ScrewFix mostly sells 15mm ones? I will get a couple of angled compression fittings (I still have some olives and PTFE tape from previous DIYs) and few copper pipes and then get the straight TRV and...

Removing a very old radiator upstairs to decorate

Thanks John, what size TRV blanking caps that can fully depress the pin underneath do you think I need? Please state Screwfix part numbers?

Removing a very old radiator upstairs to decorate

Could we not extend the pipe work using the right-angled compression fittings with olives, above the floor level and just run the new pipe works horizontally along the skirting board?

What do you mean by 'minimalist'? I know the push fit system will get 'push out' of place during freezing condition as any water collected will turn to ice and expand. Both compression and solvent weld seem to be very solid and never get 'pushed out' by trapped frozen water.

I thought removing TRV will have the same effect as if you are leaving on max setting and so water will flow freely? What is the ScrewFix item no for this particular one? omg, the laminated flooring and beads were recently fitted. Could we do this without taking floors apart :) ? Which part...

Removing a very old radiator upstairs to decorate

Yes it is like that when we bought the house 4 years ago. Is that the lockshield valve?

Joining all 3 water pipes together (2 waste and 1 rain)

What waste pipes and fittings would you use for this type of work? Sometimes, leaves and other debris may be trapped inside the pipes so maybe it is not a good idea to use solvent weld fittings, as in the future, I might decide to dismantle one section and loosen the debris and leaves. My next...

Joining all 3 water pipes together (2 waste and 1 rain)

What about this one item no 18711? What are the advantages of 'push fit' fittings over 'solvent weld' or none at all?

Would the new Kudox radiator accept the existing TRV for a straight swap, without additional plumbing parts? http://www.screwfix.com/p/kudox-pre...double-convector-radiator-white-600x800/70404 Also, would I need to switch off the combi boiler or could I get away with just reducing the water...

Removing a very old radiator upstairs to decorate

Hi there, Now I want to remove an old single panel radiator in the small bedroom upstairs for decoration and then fit a new double-panel radiator with side covers and top vent cover (plus new valves) slightly towards the door side so we will end up with more usable wall space on the left...

Joining all 3 water pipes together (2 waste and 1 rain)

I gather I also need FloPlast SC250 Solvent Cement (ScrewFix Product Code 14295), is that correct to join them together? The bottom waste pipe is actually metal; not plastic at all, but the top waste pipe is plastic and so is the black RWP. I have an oscillating multi tool to cut plastic or pvc...
