    Drilling Into Tiles

I bought myself a set of 3 special tile drill-bits from B&Q for about a fiver. Each one looks like a Spear-head and they're good for drilling a hole exactly where you want it to go. A tiler friend of mine once advised me to get a long sharp nail and hammer and gently tap the nail to the point...

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

I think there's only about 3-4 litres or so. I use a plastic sink basin when I drain mine. Have you checked that the leak isn't actually coming from somewhere else? It could be that the leak is coming from near the engine somwhere (?) and running down one of the hoses to where the radiator...

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

If you go to Ford then they will probably tell you that you need to buy the whole radiator. I had a broken mirror and they wanted me to buy a whole new wingmirror just for the glass! B'stards! I suppose at least if you do decide to buy a new radiator that should cure the problem.

    Switching from NTL

Dunno if this is the right place for this but. I currently have TV, Telephone and Broadband supplied by NTL and I'm looking to switch over to a cheaper supplier. Broadband on it's own costs me £17.99 per month for 1 Mg and the TV (Family pack) with telephone costs me about £40.00-ish a...

Suspected leaking radiator - Ford Fiesta 2001

I think the only screw on cap on the radiator is the drain plug which is situated at the bottom of the radiator. You'll find it if you jack the front of the car up slightly and look from underneath the car. It's only a small plug and you can usually undo it with a 1p coin. Other than that...

    help! leak from car roof

To be fair, it's unlikely to be the windscreen but it can happen. If it is then it's a job for a windscreen repair company because the seal around the glass will be at fault. More than likely it'll be water ingress around the ariel mount

    help! leak from car roof

On some cars, if you pull out and remove the interior light fitting you can see the bolt that fixes the ariel to the roof (situated behind it). Sounds like it needs tightening up or a new seal fitted. If you losen the ariel you may be able to apply a small amount of clear silicone around the...

Ford Fiesta blowing out hot air

Just to add to this The missus drives a Zetec-S Fiesta (W reg). The heater blowers got stuck on hot so I got hold of a new Heater Control Valve from Ford. The newer HCV (Part number starts 98FU) is not suitable for pre-2005 Fiesta's and you will need to replace the HCV for an older one from...

    Blair flies into Baghdad

Let's hope they dont miss him  Realistically, I dont think they'd send Blair into any situation that was really considered high risk or life-threatening. Me thinks it's all been hyped up a little to try and convince us that he's a great guy after all. As per usual.

    Asda Deli counter

I had the chicken tikka for 2 Indian meal on Saturday night and thought exactly the same thing. It came complete with "2 Large Onion Bargies" which were actually the size of two small squashed plums. Didn't know exactly what I was getting until I got home. The Nan bread wasn't too bad though

    Tony Blair's Secret

I heard something a while back on the radio about his daughter trying to commit suicide. Dunno if it was true but I never heard or saw anything afterwards. That was probably about 18 months ago.

should we apologise for our part in slavery?

Why should we apologise for something which was carried out generations ago and was completely beyond our control? I think it would be an empty gesture personally. Apart from anything else, as far as I am led to believe, black slaves were sold to the British by African (and other) black...

More than 50% English are racist

You're only a racist these days if someone else percieves you to be a racist. For example if you took a dislike to a work colleague and you called him a t0sser and that colleague just happened to be black, does that make you a racist? If you are black yourself then the answer is no but if...

    Silly forum?

More pictures of the beast here: The 14th and 15th pictures down reminds me of the boat scene from War of the Worlds  http://www.rwe.com/generator.aspx/standorte/braunkohle/baggertransporte/rueckblick-in-bildern/id=56674/bilder-seite1-page.html

    DIY Electrics

Ive often wondered how many other trades are effected by the revised building regs. I work in the glass and window industry and because new window installations have to comply with Doc L and then have to have a FENSA certificate issued, in theory it should have put a stop to people fitting...

TVR TRAITORS TO THERE WORK FORCE

Quite right. But an apprenticeship isn't the same as going to university is it? :? At the time a large percentage of Michelin's workforce was sourced from it's own apprenticeship schemes and I expect the same goes for most of the car industry. Have you ever tried getting to work for one...

TVR TRAITORS TO THERE WORK FORCE

This country is quickly going down the pan. My missus has a cousin who works for Bentley in Crewe. I dont know what he earns exactly but I do know that he ****es a huge amount of money up the wall every week. As far as I can gather, he has no qualifications and has worked on car production...

    Buying advice

You get what you pay for. I wouldn't buy windows online for the simple reason you dont know what you're getting for your money. What profile are they supplying and what security features do their windows have? National companies make their money buy selling finance packages and probably...
