    What's The Best Free Anti-Virus?

Phishing is as much about viruses as viruses are moron seeing as some phishing attempts require the user to install something like a virus to gain the info they want. Some expert   . I'm on a PC and I'm less likely to get a virus than you are on your over priced, over hyped...

    What's The Best Free Anti-Virus?

If someone really wanted to break into your mac computer they would, ask Charlie Miller. Macs fall before windows most of the time at the PWN2OWN competitions. Check this website out: http://www.securemac.com/ As far as I know mac users are just as susceptible to phishing attempts etc as...

    What's The Best Free Anti-Virus?

Latest AV comparatives results suggest that Avast is the best and fastest free AV solution, and MSE is not as good as you'd think. I use Avast with Comodo firewall plus defense+ with winpatrol, with OIBit security 360. The layered security route is the safest.

    windows 7 32 or 64bit?

I'd go for 64bit. 64bit will run 32bit programs, and as mentioned means for the operating system at least you'll get more out of the hardware. Not only that but at present there are very few 64bit viruses and I believe no 64bit rootkits. Though that doesn't mean 32bit viruses wont run. So...

GIMP is very good but very hard to use alternatively you could use GIMPPhoto: http://www.gimphoto.com/ which is gimp with a photoshop look to make it easier to use. You could try Paint.NET http://www.getpaint.net/ which is far easier to use though not a powerful as gimp.

I'd uninstall Adobes reader and install Sumatra PDF Viewer. Or if you want one which has the same set of features to Adobes install PDF-X Viewer both are a lot quicker than Adobes!

    trojan horse infection

Make sure its definitely not an infection, better safe than sorry. You'd be better off posting the MBAM log on here if it finds anything. Its worth running HiJackThis to and posting its log here as well. Also if there is no infection I'd think about getting rid of AVG its rather rubbish since...

    Reliable firewall and site blocker

AV-Test seem to think MSE is quite good. Set and forget, I've been using it for as long as its been out never had any problems, plus the spyware shield is a bonus. Zonealarm free is rubbish fact. PCTools Firewall is as good as Comodo with a lot less hassle. With a hardware firewall ie a...
