Twin&Earth Sandwiched Between Hot Water Pipes

Didn't realise there were more replies here. Just came back to check just incase. The cable was lying over that red circle patch visible in the first picture. You may have to zoom in a bit to see it properly :) More like what JohnW2 said: it no longer happens . It's really...

Twin&Earth Sandwiched Between Hot Water Pipes

Hi thanks i wasn't aware of this. Well, i just came back to edit my last post to say how i got on incase anyone has any similar problems. I've already done the work so i just hope everything is still ok. Not sure how long it would take before any signs of water leakage would show, but it's been...

Twin&Earth Sandwiched Between Hot Water Pipes

Thanks for pointing that out about the wagoboxes. I'll keep that in mind for future reference. Beofre I buy a MF accessory whether wagobox or Ashley kind, I'll do what bernardgreen said and see if I can space the pipes apart a bit using a thin piece of timber cladding or similar. The pipes are...

Twin&Earth Sandwiched Between Hot Water Pipes

Awesome you've been a great help. Decided to use a wagobox with wago connectors if I don't end up using an Ashley Hager J803. Thanks again.

Twin&Earth Sandwiched Between Hot Water Pipes

That's an idea I will consider. Sounds similar to an idea that I've just come up with. I thought of snipping the cable at the nearest joist, then untangling the cable from the pipe, and simply reconnecting via 30A JB, but it's whether there will be enough cable to make the connections. But, I...

Twin&Earth Sandwiched Between Hot Water Pipes

Probably feel more confident doing electrical work than plumbing as we seem to be cursed by leaks! Is there a way I could snip the cable at the pipe and rejoin it with something like an insulated flex connector? I know that's generally not good practice. If that really is a no no, then i...

Twin&Earth Sandwiched Between Hot Water Pipes

Hi there, I'm just wondering if i should be concerned and if anyone has any ideas on how to ease the problem? It's a fairly tight gap between the cable so it would be tricky to place pipe insulation. Not only that, but I read somewhere that polystyrene shouldn't come into contact with PVC...

    Asbestos In My Loft?

Hi Tony, I just can't think what else it could be. On the far side of the loft under the insulation there are laths so it would be common to assume that the plaster underneath is stuck to that (old fashioned lath and plaster method), but would you stick plaster to asbestos panels? Hmmm...

    Asbestos In My Loft?

Haha you should see the wiring up there too (ok a bit off topic I know)! But, I am a bit worried if it is asbestos as I've got to work up there at some point. If it is, I suppose I'll just have to be careful and not disturb it, but I was just curious to see what you guys thought.

    Asbestos In My Loft?

Hi, I plan to board over the joists in my loft, and while I was measuring up, I noticed what appears to be asbestos, but I'm not entirely sure if it is or not. If it is, should I be concerned? All my upstairs ceilings have an artex effect by the way, but whether they contain asbestos or not, I...

Loft Light Installation - Circuit Cable Hunting

Not really sure what you mean by this, so I'll go with the connecting block method. Sorry, it's just the way I talk on most forums, but I'll tone it down, particularly on this forum section. I can assure you though, I take the safety of myself and others seriously so there's no worries...
