Peugeot 206 1.4 Auto idling issue?

Peter, did the garage pull the codes? Surely the quickest way would be to find out if any fault codes exist and go on from there. As John stated in his post, leaking fuel or more importantly vac lines will put you're revs up no end. Watching this thread with interest as my Wife has...

Peugeot 206 1.4 Auto idling issue?

Lambda sensor or O2 sensor as it is sometimes known measures exhaust gases and if not working properly will lead to overfueling, cant see them causing erratic idling though. :?

............ i'm planning on building a double garage on the side of my house, an end terrace with a small peace of ground to the side, now i'm aware the max height of a garage is 2.5m but does this still apply to a garage built on the side of a house? I would like it a bit higher if poss...

    Automatic transmissions

My Wife just got rid of her Astra Auto after years of trouble free motoring. Remember, a lot of car manufactors dont actually make their own auto box's, they source them from else where. To me, a real auto box has a torque converter, i think i'm right in saying a CVT box does not, its all...

    Changing o2 oxygen sensor

Not strictly true pom001, not all cars throw a CEL if the O2 is faulty, especially a car that is 14yrs old. How did the emissions do on the last MOT?? I replaced 2 O2 sensors on a car 2yrs back with generic 4 wire ones that were half the price of Main Dealer and they are still going...

t cut or other cleaning solutions

If you're really fussed about getting the paintwork to look good again, pay a local valeter to mop the sides for you, as stated above, a machine polish will bring it back, i know 'cause we do it at work. But, with hindsight i must say, in certain light sometimes you can just make out a shadow...

in need of advice on astra 1.4 swing

I would hazard a guess that the leads are breaking down, maybe better to replace. On modern cars its not advisable to handle anything related to the HT circuit with the engine running, good job you were not fitted with a pacemaker!!!

    coolant flushing

Apart from the hose flush i think he maybe refering to a flushing solution which is added to the coolant, the engine is then started and allowed to reach operating temp for a few miles, allow to cool, then drain and refill with correct water/antifreeze mix.

    Bad Wax Job? Advise please

If you can find a good valeter he should be able to mop the bonnet and remove 90% of those swirl marks. Then treat it to a good wax.
