    Would that not depend on insulation in loft,hot air could be getting in loft space causing condensation, I've had problems with tyvek felt before!! So don't use it anymore.

    Hehe that's about right!! A house over road from me had foam sprayed under it, when they re roofed it all the timbers needed replacing due to rot. So spring time might be best idea to do it,hopefully yours won't need re timbered

    Never herd of using 1f felt on a shallow pitch roof :roll: breathable should be fine.Procter roof shield is what I use all the time,with tiles suitable for the pitch you shouldn't have a problem :wink:

    Re use the slate that comes off :roll: as for using dry fix valley don't no where you could use that? Can't see a valley on that pic???

    Two ways I no of are: 1. Use a slate ripper, slide ripper onto lat then slide slate up then remove ripper 2. Push slate up to lat then slide it down about 1 inch then put a nail either side of slate. So the nails act like a see saw, push slate down then push up on to lat. :wink:

    Ha was thinking this the other day!!i go throw boots like there going out of fashion :( think we need to design proper roofing boots with extra material on sides to stop them wearing away :!:

    What's wrong with the welsh slate coming off??? Spanish is not a patch on welsh, surely for the roofer to re use the welsh and buy Make up slates is cheaper than buying Spanish for the full roof??

    So the attic as stairs up to it and plaster boarded out?? If so you can only put in so much insulation depends on rafter thickness!,so if rafters are 3"x2" then 50mm max cellotex between rafters in be fine,building control shouldn't have a problem with that surely, :wink:

    Not sure about them tiles bud but I think there is a shortage in general,it's a struggle to get hold of tiles up north,some times 6 weeks lead time on deliverys to building merchant,don't think Russell,marley and Redlands can keep up on orders :(

    A couple of tile vents would to get some air blowing thru, also check the insulation in loft isn't tight up against the felt at the eaves.another thing you could check is the loft hatch,if it is condensation there must be hot air getting into the loft space so make sure that's insulated as well

    Tidy Even if they have stretch the batten gauge it looks steep enough Also have alook around your estate to see if any other roofs like yours have been done, And check how many courses they have on ? You have 12 if others have 13+ then there lies the problem :wink:
