    New roof fitted but wet beams after heavy weather?

    Condensation maybe? I don't use tyvek because I've had a few probs in past with it,it rained in when i felt n batten up, came thru batten nails and soaked all rafters!!!and had afew condensation probs with it also!maybe try and fit afew tile vents.

    Why didn't the roofer use the same tiles so could have done away with the bonding gutter??and you are suppose to inform building control to check insulation in loft!

    Yea tack it to under side of rafter and then put a 25x50mm batten on top that then plasterboard,leaves a 50 mm air gap between felt and foil and a 25mm gap between foil and plasterboard

    Why not strip off the old plasterboard and then fix some gen x muti foil insulation, fix with a tacks or stapler on the rafters then counter batten with a 2x1 batten and plasterboard,or use a insulation plaster board if you want,it's an old building and you can only do so much on the regs...

    Yep I concur that down pipe will be trouble :shock: shouldn't take to long to sort out with a decent roofer a couple of hours max :wink:

    Bedding ridge tiles in the rain?

    Don't see a problem to bed the ridges on then point up when it's dry,the mix I use is 4/1 using plaster sand and free flow waterproofer :wink: and I don't use dye, I think it weakens the cement

    Aye there's afew around my area that go round looking for scaffolding and roofing works!! And if they spot them rush right up scaffold saying u need a building notice and that they r gonna starting fineing people if they dont apply,Just on a power trip I think!!!i mention it to customers but...

    repairing flashings this weekend...advice please

    Would b a better job if you lifted the coping stones off and lead flashed under them and dressed lead down over the lead soakers then bed coping stones back on, job done;), better than rendering . Maybe you could ask next door and go halfs on the job. :D
