    Home Network Advice

Standard Cat5/6 cable is about 5-6mm diameter and PF100 or similar Coax cable is about 6-7mm From the pic supplied it looks like you have oval not circular conduit and assuming thats 2.5mm T&E cable shown I think it might be too tight, even with 3xNetwork in one conduit and 2xCoax in the...

    Unfortunate Juxtaposition II

I agree. Thanks to the EU nobody has any money left so they can't afford to go to war with anybody with a proper army

Idea to Discourage Abuse on GD Forum

I have an idea - ban RH and the 'abuse' will vanish.

One third of Britons admit being racially prejudiced

I was on a short term contract in the city last year and one of the blokes I was with was over from Abu Dhabi. He said the Saudi's used to come over and get fissed as parts on a regular basis ('tourists' are allowed to drink) and everyone knew it.

When is a roundabouit not a roundabout?

****** arent a 'race', they're a lifestyle choice. I live not far from the infamous Dale Farm. Some of the illegal residents were offered council houses, but preferred to remain mobile.

When is a roundabouit not a roundabout?

If you keep feeding the trolls, they'll keep hanging around. Its what the Ignore function is here for.

When is a roundabouit not a roundabout?

To be fair, workmen in my local are in the habit of forgetting to remove signs. The level crossing near my parents house was closed and for three days after it reopened the road leading to it still had "Road Closed" signs half a mile away.

When is a roundabouit not a roundabout?

Actually Jockscott by RH's definition your username is probably a racist slur on the people of Scotland. That you may actually be Scottish and called Jock is irrelevant :D

    Once upon a time

I was always more of a lurker than regular poster, but recently I've been lurking elsewhere. I come to DIY not for DIY discussion and a bit of light banter, not endless arguments about racism, perceived racism or the possible implyment of racism.

Can I bypass the immobiliser on VW beetle

In an 03 Beetle you've probably got the Immo3 series clock cluster, and as far as I remember Vag-com can't read the SKC, there is another bit of software that can but its name escapes me at the moment.

Can I bypass the immobiliser on VW beetle

EDIT : getting ahead of myself! If theres a problem with the immobiliser and keys you ought to see an error light on the dash that indicates so. My 2003 Golf shows an orange key if I try it with an unprogrammed key - the Beetle is basically a Mk4 Golf in a fat suit and likely to have the same...

    headphone recommendations

Normally I'd say Sennheiser or Grado, but I assume you dont want to spend £100 plus for a set of cans you wear around the site. What about these? http://www.richersounds.com/product/all-headphones/sennheiser/ocx-685i/senn-ocx-685i-b

DVLA survey on number plate system - fit for pupose?

I was in my local parts place a few years back when someone came in to buy the sticky numbers to make a plate for his MX5 and the guy behind the counter said they didnt sell them anymore as they were illegal - a quick google shows they arent, so I assume he meant they couldnt sell them because...

DVLA survey on number plate system - fit for pupose?

Considering how the Police, DLVA, Councils, Parking fine issuing wombles and every ANPR /Speed / Congestion charging camera in existance relies on the numberplates being correct you'd think they'd be a lot more regs about how they are attached to the car to make sure they dont fall off. True...

Alloy wheel deep scratch :-( What to do?

Have a Google for alloy wheel repair - there are several companies who specialise in repairing alloys and a number of independent mobile blokes with vans who visit the car dealers. I had mine done at a place near me for £50 a wheel (16" alloys) Example -...

    Locking up in NYC?

Remember a lock is only as good as the door and frame it's attached to. I remember seeing a video of the police using a battering ram on a PVC-U door and knocking the whole frame out of the wall.

    Cooker hood under flyover

I have a 500mm undermount cooker hood on a 700mm wide half height bridge unit between two full height units. To make it look neater I used a vanity panel to line the underside of the bridge unit and sides of the full height units.
