    edpm or pond liner ?

Slightly different chemical make-up, apparently. Read somewhere, forget where at present, but additional chemicals for the sun exposure (or something like that) on the roofing stuff.

    hotpoint wmd960

I have the same problem, the machine is about 2 1/2 years old. lol ! Found this thread (and another) while searching for a solution. Actually to give some more detail, put the machine onto wash and things seemed fine. At some point in the wash the machine stopped, some hours later when i...

    hotpoint wmd960 washing machine

Had a similar problem. Found a solution - engineer fix. Will post detail on another thread that I found, probably the one that you found. "Hotpoint wmd960" thread, started jan11, 2011. http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1863079#1863079

    PT100 Sensor Wiring

Certainly would have thought so. Would be worthwhile checking that you have a mA current loop through that transmitter in the meantime. Have you got a multimeter capable of measuring mA ? or volts ? If so, wire the transmitter up again with the power supply but instead of the wires going...

    Wheel siezed on!!

I had the same problem with the alloy stuck on. I tried a slightly different approach as I didn’t have anything decent to hit the wheel from the other side of the car so ended up levering it off. I will state that it is not the best method and comes with its own risks of damage. Did have a...

looks like it should be ok.

    PT100 Sensor Wiring

The "loop load" on your diagram is the digital display. It could quite as easily be another type of instrument, controller for example. As you've said, the digital display has its own power supply, sorted! There will (probably) be a + (plus) and - (minus) on the digital display input...

Two cold radiators, both pipes also cold

And if pulling the pin up doesn't work..... can it be pushed down? (The valve may already be open) This is just to check if it is jammed. If it moves down then the valve is most likely open and not jammed. (this does not check for a choke though). Make sure it moves freely. If it doesn't...

How do I get inhibitor into my radiator?

The further thought occurs:- You could try and use a funnel/pipe arrangement, (or something similar), then temporary seal the connection of the pipe and radiator with something like electrical tape. This would hopefully stop the inhibitor leaking back out when poured in. It would be best to...

How do I get inhibitor into my radiator?

Or try a funnel with a piece of pipe, size of which is appropriate to go over the wier that seems to be in the pipe. At least that's what I take out of the OP. If you have fittings lying around could make something up similar to the photo.

    Fitting a wider radiator

I have done the 90degree bends below the radiator before, due to the joists. Personal job though so didn't have to answer to a home owner. I personally didn't think that it was "bad" to look at, just perhaps a little more different than normal. As Agile says, might not even be noticed by...

    Fitting a wider radiator

Watch the new position of the radiator pipe inlet/outlet is not directly at a joist.

    Lining Paper

Another possibility to hide the bad wall is to use "wallrock thermal liner" It will hide imperfections that lining paper alone won't hide. It is an expensive way to go though, you need not only to buy the paper (about £50 a roll) but also the adhesive (£30 a tub). Gets expensive. Can get...

    Attempted hack or genuine call?

I got one of those calls too. It's a scam. Kept him on the phone for ten minutes though, Eventually told him that I couldn't operate the computer from the phone's location. Asked him to phone me back the next day when I would have moved the phone closer. Never did phone me back...

Gaps in shed- should I use expansion foam?

If the profile filler in the previous post don't suit then, yes, you can use expanding foam. Depending upon your priorities it may look a little unsightly and will yellow with age. Could cut it flush if that's your preference.

    Angle Grinder

I would rather spend the money and get the job done without any injury than go cheap and nasty and be at risk when doing the job !!! Even for / especially for, occasional use. And the advice applies even MORE to someone who has limited experience of using a grinder. Let me just clarify it...

    Angle Grinder

I like bosch or dewalt. Avoid the cheap and nasty ones are they are generally just dangerous to use. (screwfix clearance ones come to mind).

I think the bus driver lost it.

Wonder what happened before they came into focus of this camera? The cyclist is trying to hold up not only the bus but all the traffic behind. Also, when the bus tries to overtake the cyclist moves to counter the manouver. Obviously the cyclist is the road menace. Should have ran over the...

Additives To Central Heating System To Remove Sludge/Scale

Haven’t used the cartridge method so can’t comment – sorry. As mentioned in previous post , it would be beneficial if you could find a way to flush out the system using continuous flow of water. This could be done before the X400 and after it to try and ensure its complete removal...
