A regular condensing boiler and a separate cylinder would be most reliable but more costly to fit, if you go for the combi swap use the grant vortex as the worcester greenstar combi will be as bad as the potterton in years to come !. Ring grant boilers and ask for details of approved service...

Be aware that the sit valve needs a different bypass fitted depending on which aga you fix it too !. DON must have had a change of policy, perhaps going "belly up" a few years ago has had something to do with it. I doubt you could buy a complete kit though.

The bm 751 is obsolete, don do a kit of bits and a sit valve to convert it, however they will only supply you with bits if you have been on their gas course. unless you do alot of aga,s or want a couple of days doing a course turn the job over to your local "aga-man". regards.

I think the grant combi originaly came with a 6 meter head pump(15/60 UPS) . Ring grant uk ask for a list of approved engineers, this way you will get someone who knows what they are doing and will have the bits to fix it. I agree it sounds like it may be the pump gone or not getting any power !.

oil tanks in a building should be in a purpose built compartment,view relevant oftec regs, I also come across a few and issue warning notices to the house holder !.

On a grey button honeywell ?, 2 mins to change a solenoid and 30 mins to change a complete valve. bearing in mind the cost difference I would change the complete valve.

The bfp 31 is no longer made, a bfp 21 would replace it when needed, are you sure that the gauge manifold valve was open or ptfe tape was not blocking inlet to gauge.

if you are ever in doubt as to where to fit a gauge , pull the bleed nipple out and fit gauge there.
