    Is it ok to drill a hole in a timber wall stub or joist to thread a copper heating pipe through? Is heat not an issue?

    Just thought without it being in a chase the steel capping to prevent nailing of the pipe would be had to fit over the pipe. Though I have never seen them use steel capping though it shows it in the gas book I have from college.

    Our gas safe engineer says to fully encase the pipe in the chase with dry wall adhesive. Some on here say different though

    Do you not fully incase the pipe in the chase with adeshive? Thought the chase should be deep enough so the pipe will be fulku encased in it when making good

    I thought you chased the pipe in to the wall then encased in dry wall adhesive before the plasterers daubed a board on. But in the viper book it shows the pipe not encased in the chase with dry wall adhesive over the pipe. But continuous daubs of dry wall adhesive around the pipe. I couldn't...
