    Gloworm Compact 80e problem

Yeah i live in ossett just outside wakey, work all over the wakefield area. Trying to keep the easy life of just installing nowadays, but get tempted by old customers to go to breakdowns now and then. Been through the heartache you`re experiencing, although the new generation of boilers are...

    Gloworm Compact 80e problem

You should have e-mailed me, i`ve more old boilers in the garage than steptoes` yard! Saves a fortune on new parts when you can test with proven working ones from the back of the van. Gritish Bas get away with it day in day out.

Who pays, installer or household insurance?

The plumber should have public liability insurance to work in your home. If it`s like mine, the excess is £500, so he`d more than likely have to pay out of his own pocket for the damage to your property. Sounds like he`s trying to duck out of this one. Go with the advice above, he has a legal...

boiler is on the blink is it cheaper to replace than repair?

The diaphragm on these boilers works the hot water, so if it`s "leaking" that`s more than likely to be the hot water problem. Cheap boiler but parts can be expensive. The pump for one of these is over £100.

    Worcester starved of air?

Don`t take this the wrong way, but the thing that`s wrong is you`re running the boiler with the cover open! It`s not too much of an expense to fix the problem, and an engineer with a bit of savy will suss it straight away. No matter how many times you ask neither myself or anyone else here would...

    Upstairs radiators not heating up.

You may have one, it`d be on the flow pipe and after the pump. Brass compression fitting with an arrow on it.

    COLD RAD

Have you tried strangling down the other rads slightly?
  19. S

    Upstairs radiators not heating up.

Yes, the blockage may only be on the flow side. The water would still be able to back-fill through the return pipes. Might be a case of removing the 3 rads and checking them.
