    Boiler flue through chimney flue

You can buy a purposed made flashing plate for the flue which incorporates a rubber collar to seal to the flue. Easy to fit, and it depends on the plumber you hire for the job. He may stipulate a roofer must fit it.

    Boiler flue through chimney flue

Seriously, stay away from the chimney idea. Arfurrr is correct about the kits for them, but as stated, they`d be difficult to secure. A vertical (spelt correctly this time) flue is the least expensive and easier option.

    vertical!!!!!

    Boiler flue through chimney flue

Depending on the boiler, most verticle flue kits for the job work out about £150. A flue for a standard installation is around £70. So negligable cost increase to solve your problem.

    Flexible gas pipe with bayonet

I thought only flexi hoses were permitted if the appliance may need to be moved for cleaning purposes, acceptable on a free standing cooker, but how many people clean under their hob? Doubt very much corgi would pull you on fitting with rigid pipe as the MI`s state that it COULD not should! I...

    gas fire pilot light

Sounds very much like the aeration port on the the pilot tube is partially blocked, giving the yellow tipped flame. The pilot light should only touch the tip of the thermocouple and be pointed and blue. Take the earlier advice of getting it serviced, the engineer should spot this and strip the...

RJT Fitting - What is it?

The RJT fittings are 50 mm outside diameter, so you wouldn`t get a good marriage on the 2. Unless you`re a competent at braizing i`d let an engineer sort it for you. Like doitall says, depends how much you want to spend.

RJT Fitting - What is it?

Maybe i`m not reading it right. So you`ve a 54mm pipe,in copper, and you want to do what with it? From my reckoning i read it as you want to make a fixing bracket for the pipe. Am i just being dumb?

RJT Fitting - What is it?

RJT fitting is a union for what`s more commonly known as dairy pipe. They`re in metric sizes and have a rubber `o` ring in tha middle to seal them. Try a search engine for a pic. Good luck soldering the stainless!

    vokera linea 24 cleaning

Going on my own linea 24 that did the same thing 3 months ago. Went down the thermistor road to no joy. Replaced the heat exchanger as mine was blocked with hard scale. Cured my problem though. The overheat stat never cut out on mine which as you rightly say should have happened with resticted...

    Gas pipes query

If there`s no meter you`d have to contact transco or whatever they`re calling themselves this week. With no meter or, from your description, any means to manually isolate the incoming supply, it would be very difficult to cap the pipe after it was cut to check for flow. I would imagine it`s been...

    hw fires on and off

May well be the dhw flow turbine, done a few of these on the worcesters with that fault, not expensive and easy to do. Look in your manual for guidance.

    vokera linea 24 cleaning

Turn down the supply from the mains cold water via the stopcock, watch the temperature guage, it should increase as the less flow through the heat exchanger allows the water to absorb more heat from it. If this happens you need to remove the plate heat exchanger and either chemically descale it...

    IDEAL ISAR 24 HE

There`s usually a reason behind plumb center offering anything cheap! More than likely dead stock that`s got to be moved so flogged off cheap. Reason being that nobody`s buying them, and for a good reason! Get ideal out to sort it. i.e. put a newer version of the board that`ll actually work for...

Worcester 24i (doing my head in)

You`ll need to give us a bit more info! What happens with the pressure guage, if anything? Is the auto air bleed open on the boiler? Does it sound like it`s boiling the water?

    Worcester 240 combi - no hot water/central heating ...

Go on i`ll bite! From your original post it was taken that YOU were going to attempt the gas valve replacement. It was never brought into question your capability to carry out this task, i questioned the safety aspect of performing it and not carrying out the obligatory tests before and after...
