Recommend me an under sink heater

I think that will be adequate, but just bear in mind that this will take 30mins to heat back up again and it can run out quickly, especially if you are running the kitchen sink doing the pots then wanting to use the basin. To be safe I would go with the 13kW Redring heater too.... obviously...

Twin Coil Cylinder .... HW stratification??

Just after some advice please, is there any problems with installing a twin coil cylinder (bottom coil connected to solar panel circ and top coil to the boiler circ.) and also incorporating a hot water return loop. I understand most of the twin coil cylinder shave a secondary return connection...

    balanced flues

If you are going to the trouble and expense of having a new high efficency boiler fitted, then why are you trying to put an open flue on it... personally I would be wanting it with a concentric flue, the cost difference would be minimal... maybe cheaper. This will therefore not be effected by...

    United Utilities service

Its normally other contractors that come along and fill the hole back up.... normally within 5 days or so from experience.... stop worrying, they have obviously been and fixed some fualt on the supply... better them doing that than not doing anything... calm down. :D :D

oil boiler retrofit - advice needed on location

Personally, I would say, fit the boiler in an outbuilding with underground F&R's to the property. Most houses don't have this advantage so I would say go with option B. You may find the oil boiler could be a bit smelly if it isn't operating correctly or you have a bit of oil spillage etc. +...

Maximum length for HW circulation loop??

Some advice please... Is there a maximum length for a pumped hot water circulation loop i.e. would you say a 40m run from the cylinders to the last hot water tap is excessive... ensuring the bronze circulator is sized sufficiently? I presume you can get this length of circuit, and probably...

New boiler with a fancy flue

This is getting amusing now: ALL AGREED INPUT = MORE kW OUTPUT = LESS kW thats why you get say a 90% efficient boiler, if it was the other way round then you may get say a 110% efficient boiler..... thats where heat pumps come into it, but lets no go there eh??

New boiler with a fancy flue

You have only cut out the last part of the sentence... he said: its the output, not the input wich is about 35% more.
  12. J

New boiler with a fancy flue

No.. its the input that is more, which is why the output is less i.e. 100kW input boiler at 85% efficiency means that it has an output of 85kW (a lesser figure!)
  13. J

New boiler with a fancy flue

It is probably a 90 kW 'INPUT' which at say, 60% efficiency could be more like an 'OUTPUT' of 50-60kW Do check and investigate further

    Flue location

Too close... you could try and incorporate a flue diversion kit of some kind... depending on what boiler you were to chose. This would direct the flue gas elsewhere which may help in this situation.

New boiler with a fancy flue

That sound bloody expensive to run to... sounds like the whole system needs an improvement... put in an indirect cylinder and heat it from the new boiler would save ££££'s on your bills. PS 90KW... sure your gas meter is up to it... is it a U6 or U16 size meter??

    Re-use Existing Flue??

Had a Worcester Greenstar Oil Fired boiler fitted to the existing stainless steel flue. Worcester came out and ok'd it, as it is condensing compatible. All working fine. Thanks Guys
