    Hi, what you describe sounds like an upturned membrane from maybe a new concrete floor. It definately is not a damp course and maybe if the wall was showing signs of damp it is someones idea of tanking to cure it. Dos'nt sound quite right to me, got any pictures?

    Picking plaster out of your hair is both painfull and pointless. Washing plaster out of your eyes also hurt's and during all this the plaster that you hopefully have got on the ceiling will be going off as your mix will be doubtfull. Get someone in :lol:
