    Punctures.

Freddy, I hope your anorak never wears out !. Tremendous info on the tyres, always welcome to get advice from an expert. Liked your truck by the way. I used to go to Liverpool docks to get all the Jaguars and Triumph TR6's going when I worked for a main dealer. They went to America on the...

ford focus 06 tdci won't start unless full of fuel

Some systems have pumps in the tank, and others do not, depending on the type of system i.e: Siemens, Bosch etc. If there is a rubber bulb in the engine compartment to prime the system, then the car will not have a pump in the tank. Obviously, no rubber bulb = pump in tank. The in-tank pumps...

    Punctures.

This has all made for some very interesting reading, from some very knowledgeable people. I'm a car mechanic myself, and I asked at ATS about their nitrogen machine. I thought that it had a nitrogen cylinder inside, but the guy said that the machine just removed the other gasses from the air...

ford focus 06 tdci won't start unless full of fuel

If it's a TDCI, then it will have a pump in the tank. These can fail, and give you poor delivery to the engine. A fuel pressure rail sensor will have the same effect. You need to have the pressure checked. This can be done by an electronic diagnostic tool, but I believe that diesel specialists...

    nissan micra k11 2002/2003

Yep, sounds like the ignition switch is failing. What year is the car ?, you may be able to get one from a local scrap yard. If you take the one off in the yard, you can see how to do the job so you don't make any mistakes on your car.

    CAR BATTERY KEEPS GOING FLAT

An interesting and informative post Birkee, thanks for that. Did you ever do any work with battery de-sulphaters ?. I found these not to be very good a restoring a failed battery, and therefore not worth the investment.

    Renault Trafic Won't Start

I would get another key cut and programmed, because if you lose the one you have, you will be in big trouble. They are expensive, possibly around the £100 mark. With regard to your immobiliser problem, fingers crossed eh ???

    parking on a junction ? illegal ?

RonaldO........regarding your earlier post, I would suggest that parking on a footpath IS an offence. What about the blind person you're forcing to walk onto the carriageway, or the young mum with a pram ??. It's obstruction which ever way you want to look at it.

Vauxhall Combo 2000 CDTI 1.3 Weird warm start problem

Always make sure that the vehicle is on level ground, and with AT LEAST a quarter of a tank of fuel (Vauxhall fuel guages are notoriously unreliable when they get to a quarter). If the trouble persists, change the fuel filter ( a partially blocked fuel filter will reduce the system pressure in...

    CAR BATTERY KEEPS GOING FLAT

Birkee..... a common 12 volt lead/acid type battery is made up of six cells. Each cell is slightly above 2 volts, therefore giving the battery a potential voltage of around 12.6 volts (in the real world). However, as this voltage is variable, the manufacturers just call them '12 volt'...

    Vauxhall Combi Van Lock.

Let us know if you get it sorted, because this fault can be caused by a fault on the body control module. I'll explain more if your repair is unsuccessful.

    Corsa 03 heating problem

If one of your heater pipes is hot and the other one cold, then either the heater matrix is blocked (unlikely, as you say it's hot to touch ?) OR, the hot/cold temperature control valve is not operating correctly.

    Renault Trafic Won't Start

If it's the red 'dot' in the middle of the dash that's flashing or staying on, it's not going to be a problem with your crank or cam sensors, it's an immobiliser fault. Check all your fuses, then lightly scrape the key on the ground to earth out any static build up in the key's electronics...

    Sorn

Remember ! A vehicle does not committ an offence - the driver does. If you get one of these, ignore it. You have no legal requirement to tell the parking company who was driving the car. You only have to tell the Police, or the local Council. Clamping is being outlawed soon anyway.

    Rusted old wrecks

What about Mini by-pass hoses ? - what a nightmare !. Also the rubber drive shaft couplings ?. Cortina and Sierra void bushes, DAF transmission drive belts, Viva and Chevette rocker arms where the push rod had punched straight through them, and Sunbeam Alpine ballast resistors. I suppose in...
