    continuously getting air in system

Quick update, i borrowed a friends hydraulic pressure tester and sytem holds 3.5 bar no problem so i can rule out a leak i guess. I cannot see any signs of pumping over so am now scratching my head. Perhaps i will just opt for a sealed system and be done with it. :?

    continuously getting air in system

the down stairs rads have pipework below the screed. I did think about a possible leak so turned the header fill off for a week and there was no loss. Not sure how else i could see if it was leaking? Is there a means of pressurising the system to check for leaks? ie block the feed and vent and...

    continuously getting air in system

Hi all I am having problems with air getting in to my open vent system. I have removed all the lagging from the pipes in the loft as i thought air might be getting in there and would appreciate an opinion on the layout as it does not look quite right to me. It appears to be a combined feed...

    new shower bar

I am replacing my old shower and now have a bar type mixer to fit. Reading the instructions it appears that the bar is supported using "rigid pipes" or some sort of bracket which i have no idea about (did not come with it) When they refer to rigid pipes, are we talking simply using saddles to...

    Air in system help

I found an old pic (as i am at work and cannot take another right now). i have crossed out some old text and things that have been removed but it should make some sense. Is it worth removing it and putting it back to how it was? http://www.diynot.com/network/zooankski/albums/ I would...

    Air in system help

thanks for the response. i am changing the header tank as it does not have a lid and has part of the rim split. i will get a diagram of my system and post it, the magnaclean could not be fitted anywhere else due the boilers position in the downstairs loo and the fact the pipework goes strait in...

    Air in system help

I forgot to mention, the cold feed and vent are on the same run, ie the feed tees off and vent continues up a couple of feet before bending over in to the header tank. The system pump is also set to med so is it worth trying it on low the see if it stops the air and might prove air is coming in...

    open vent to sealed system

Hi all I currently have an open vented system using a potterton profile 60e boiler (which works just fine at the moment) My questions are- is it possible to convert the system to a sealed type? if so what is involved in doing the job? Is it worth it considering system works fine...

what sort of shower pump do i need

I intend to fit a new power shower in our ensuite and would like some advice of pump spec. I want to place the pump in the airing cupboard on my landing. Hot water will be drawn off of the top of the cylinder which is also in the cupboard and the cold supply from the tank in the loft. The...

    magnaclean fitting advice

I am going to flush and then drain down my open vent system to replace a trv and fit a magnaclean. My problem is that i am a little unsure where to fit it. The website suggests after the pump or in the return. In order to fit it after the pump i would need to also fit it after the divertor...
