No. As you are hopefully not testing while the circuit is energised, you will need to set it to its lowest ohms scale. Rather than beep the needle will move across towards zero.

Do you not have any UPS's? Even the most basic APC ups has logging software which will tell you about any under / over voltage and what time it occured. It will also give you an exact time that the power "trips"

Hi Terrymalc, Its usually extremely easy to change the psu in an average PC case. You just need to make sure the motherboard connector type is the same (adapters are avaliable) Uprate your PSU and then you can buy a graphics card fit for your purpose rather than limiting yourself

You can wire it in the same method, thats fine. Just note that there isnt a neutral at the switch, its a switched live. Make sure the blue wire is sleeved or taped brown to identify this.

Surely for the DIY'er a good mix of security is the best option i.e. a decent CCTV system supplemented by some PIR security lighting.
