    Find my leak

Seems a bit of a generalisation there - unless I've missed something everything I was told to check got checked. The only thing I haven't done is de-pressurise the EV although the guy I had over ruled that out. I'll try and do that but seems a bit beyond my skill and tools.

    Collapsed ceiling

You'd be devastated if it goes wrong and you have to pay for it yourself. Let it dry properly the start the work. If the insurer is willing, maybe you could board the ceiling then plaster at a later date.

Dulux Trade - Colour not matched to existing??

Paint between cans is never absolutely identical so you should stick to using the same can for an entire wall, even if it becomes inefficient. I made the mistake of using the dregs of a can to do some touching up and it had some of the pigment stuck at the top of the can/lid. It's made a...

    Going into trade

Give it a whirl - if you're decent you'll get recommended.

Please help, paint peeling off plaster

I agree - put some filler on then rub down to get the area flat again.

    which paint?

The Trade versions are usually thicker, spread better and work out more cost effective millimetre for millimetre - buy the wrong size can and you've lost the efficiency anyway. I go with Trade when I can and get it from my local Dulux centre because I've had bad experiences with the B&Q...

    Water drips on dried plaster

Seems like PVA has run on the plaster which you should be able to fill with a fine filler - what sort of area are you having problems with? I can't imagine why PVA would be going on the wall after the plaster.

    MOULD FROM WINDOW??

It's not a decorating issue, it's a damp/condensation problem. Best to ventilate the room thoroughly, take the curtains down, clean the wall, add an air brick, get a dehumidifier and see if any of that fixes the issue. Hopefully it isn't rising damp. To get the aesthetics right, I'd...

    Find my leak

Engineer was over yesterday and we couldn't find any problems with pipework anywhere. He's suggested I disconnect the pipe that goes from the PRV into the loft and loops back to see if any water is passing by putting a bucket under it. This was just to rule that out as an issue because we...

    impact driver capability?

I do a fair amount of DIY and got an Makita impact driver after struggling with some jobs using a Makita drill/driver. Best tool I've bought as it's brilliant for a lot of jobs. I use the drill/driver for lots of jobs still but the impact driver takes over and makes life a lot easier and...

Caulk then Prime vs Prime then Caulk. The pros and cons....

I always caulk after priming/sealing/mist coating or find the moisture gets sucked out the caulk.

    Bathroom and plaster board

If you're going to all that effort why not use waterproof boards instead? Surely they only cost about £3-£4 extra per sheet.

    Downgrading my timer

It's a Danfoss timer although I'm not sure on a model number - the following numbers are on the inside flap with the user instructions: FP715-Si 087N7898 PN 38072

    Downgrading my timer

I've got a 7 day timer at the moment and it's a pain to re-programme and alter quickly, so wanted to get a mechanical one because they're much easier to use. Can anyone recommend one suitable to match a Glowworm Flexicom?

    Find my leak

I still can't figure this out and have dropping pressure but no evidence of leaks. I've got the plumber back on Saturday to check the work he did in the summer.

    Find my leak

I'm not suggesting you're wrong but I've never heard they may be an issue before - I had some issues with this before and it always seemed to get things going. I'll avoid it in future! Thanks for the advice, I'll check the points you mentioned over the next few days.

    Find my leak

Seems like a job for another evening :o Thanks, I'll have a look through. Also seem to have a problem with the three port valve still - I can't quite work out the issue but the heating seems "weak" when the hot water is being heated. When the hot water goes off the heating picks up...

    Find my leak

Hello, The PRV was replaced a few months ago so I don't remember if that was checked - the guy that did the work is pretty good so I'm sure it would have been. How can I check?

    Find my leak

I should have added I've just had a ground floor WC room refurbed so not sure if that has anything to do with the pressure dropping - no radiator in there but the hot water pipes were replaced.

    Find my leak

So, the PRV got replaced and all has been fine until recently (probably around the time the heating has been back on). Again, no sign of any leak on walls, floors or ceilings but pressure is dropping over a couple of days. The heating is very patchy and seems to drop to nothing then heat...
