    Stepped DPC question

Due to a sloping site a step in DPC is needed. It's being rendered below DPC so I'm using blocks and a step of 215mm works out perfect as the interval floor is stepping down as well. But I'm not sure what I've got in mind will cut it with building control as it's one big step. I'll attach a...

Any way to patch this up for the winter?

Hello. My garage roof has a big gap suddenly appeared. I'll add a picture. It's corrugated probably asbestos and a bit has disappeared along the ridge. Is there anything I can do for now like tape a sheet of something over the hole. If so what kind of tape? Cheers

Any drawbacks to an early MOT?

I don't mean can I drive a death trap. I'm particularly thinking about emissions. I've had the car parked up a few months and smells a bit of soot after turning the engine off. I guess it could do with a few long runs before the test.

Any drawbacks to an early MOT?

Just wondering what happens if a car taking it's MOT early fails. Are you allowed to carry on until your original date giving more time to get the work done and getting the money together to pay for repairs. Thanks.

    Anyone used a Genie lift?

Also does anyone think a 215 x 450 x100 padstone is a bit big for that beam?

    Anyone used a Genie lift?

Was it handy to wiggle it into position?

    Anyone used a Genie lift?

Sounds a bit like the genie is harder to lift than a beam

    Wheel balancing and alignment.

On that theme. Formula one offer 'precision balancing', for £3 a tyre anyone know if this is a real thing worth having?

    Wheel balancing and alignment.

Must have been a website for one of the biggish tyre centres. Possibly formula one. I think they said if you rotate your wheels you need a rebalance and align. Thanks everyone

    Wheel balancing and alignment.

Hello, I've just read online that once you remove a wheel even if you put it straight back on again it needs alignment and balancing again. Is that true?

What size is a padstone 1

To be fair the thread is going on because different people have given different answers. Even if they hadn't would you like me to ignore people trying to help me. Or tell them to stop because you're having a a bad day? I love ya Woody and you are very good for this website. But chill out. With...

What size is a padstone 1

I tried answering yesterday but my reply doesnt seem to have appeared, only the quote. The ps1 being a way of identifying the different pads seems logical but ive looked at the drawing again and he has both pads at either end of the beam labelled as ps1. Another odd thing is when I showed the...

What size is a padstone 1

Im not getting on very well with him to be honest. A lot of his work is vague. He hasn't even replied to my last question. When ive asked the BCO about anything he says ask the Engineer. So besides beating him up ive got to do the legwork myself it seems. I assume ps1 is the smallest you can get...
